Lovely delivery, angled in from around the wicket. Bowled through the gate. Key wicket.

Angled in and straightened a touch. Beauty.
Sussex 19-1, 8.3 overs
Tom Haines caught James Wharton bowled Jack White, 15.
You will not see a better catch than this all season.
Top-edged pull and Wharton runs back from a short mid-wicket to deep square-leg, dives full length towards the Popular Bank stand and takes a stunner.
Sussex fortunate to be none down
There have a few close calls so far, with Sussex 19-0 in the seventh over.
Daniel Hughes and Tom Haines have survived two huge caught behind shouts against Matt Milnes and Jack White.
Haines, now on 15, should have been run out on 14. He pinched a single to Dom Bess at mid-off, who threw the non-striker’s end stumps down but it wasn’t given. Replays show Haines was short of his ground by a distance.
Milnes has the new ball
Matt Milnes is sharing the new ball with Jack White. Sussex are 12-0 in the second over. Tom Haines has 10 of them.
Milnes is playing his first Championship match since the start of 2024.
Up and running
Jack White has the new ball, with Daniel Hughes on strike.
Imam-Ul-Haq is wearing shirt number 1. You don’t see that too often.

Good omens?
Sussex have never won here in first-class cricket. This will be their 11th visit to North Marine Road dating back to 1939.
Good morning...
From North Marine Road, where the sun is shining ahead of day one versus Sussex.
These two sides met here last year in Division Two, Yorkshire winning it. Oh how they’d love for a repeat this week.
The second Championship match in as many weeks on this ground sees us play on a pitch which is two across to the left if you are looking down the line from the Peasholm Park End. This one has a much greener tinge to it.
Yorkshire are ninth in the table on 104 points after 10 games. Directly above them are Durham on 111, Essex on 112, Hampshire on 117 and Sussex on 125. The table is incredibly tight from its midway point down.
Durham actually host Surrey at the Riverside this week.
Pakistani overseas batter Imam-Ul-Haq is set to debut for Yorkshire, while Will Sutherland is due to play the last game of his spell.

Enjoy the day.
