Live: Yorkshire Men v Sussex, Rothesay CC, Day Four

Yorkshire are aiming to wrap up what would be a crucial victory over Sussex in the Rothesay County Championship today. Follow this page for updates from Scarborough to see if they can do it.

YORKSHIRE WIN!!!!

Gurinder Sandhu caught Matthew Revis bowled Matt Milnes, 4.

Caught at backward point.

Nearly there.

And it’s done. Five for Milnes. Henry Crocombe caught behind next ball.

An innings and 128 runs is the winning margin.

Sussex 198-8, 94 overs

Jack Carson caught Adam Lyth bowled Dom Bess, 12.

Bat and pad looped up to Lyth’s right at slip and he grabs it on the dive inches from the turf.

Carson looked absolutely fuming as he walked off. No actually, stomped off. Looks like a slice of fortune for the White Rose.

Hudson-Prentice 50

Fynn Hudson-Prentice is keeping Yorkshire waiting. He has just reached his fifty off 138 balls with 6x4s.

Sussex 188-7 after 92 overs.

Patience is the key

Sussex have moved to 186-7 in the 89th over. Fynn Hudson-Prentice has 89 and Jack Carson 12.

Milnes returns with the new ball

Sussex 175-7 after 81 overs.

Matt Milnes has the new cherry.

New ball delayed

Sussex are 174-7 after 80 overs, with Fynn Hudson-Prentice 38 and Jack Carson 11.

Will Sutherland continues, and without the new ball for now.

Golden arm Lyth gets us up and running

Adam Lyth finished the morning and will begin the afternoon.

Sussex are 166-7, trailing by 157.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has 32 and Jack Carson 10.

Lunch. Sussex 166-7, 73 overs

Yorkshire are three wickets away from victory.

Sussex are 157 behind following the loss of four wickets this morning, two of which went to Matt Milnes.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has 32 and Jack Carson 10.

Super morning for Yorkshire

We’re into the final 10 minutes of a four-wicket session.

Anthony McGrath and Dom Bess will be delighted with the position Yorkshire find themselves in. Sussex 165-7.

England motoring too

Both Yorkshire and England are having excellent days.

At the Kia Oval, they bowled India out for 224 this morning and are now 85-0 in the 12th over in reply.

John Simpson

Some ball from Jack White and some photo from Allan McKenzie at SW!

John Simpson is bowled this morning, trying to leave alone.

Sussex are currently 156-7.

Sussex 143-7, 59.2 overs

Danny Lamb caught behind Harry Duke bowled Will Sutherland, 7.

Undone chasing a wide-ish delivery.

Yorkshire closing in.

Hill and Sutherland search for wickets

George Hill and Will Sutherland, the latter playing his last game of the season for Yorkshire, are in tandem at present, with Sussex 143-6 in the 59th over.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has 19 and Danny Lamb 7.

Sussex 117-6, 48.2 overs

John Simpson bowled Jack White, 0.

Bowled trying to leave alone, and the Sussex captain is gone.

Dream start to the day for Yorkshire, who have struck three times for the addition of two runs.

Sussex 117-5, 47.5 overs

Daniel Hughes bowled Matt Milnes, 57.

Played back to one which scooted through.

Danny Lamb in now. Milnes has three-for.

Sussex 116-4, 45.4 overs

Danial Ibrahim caught Adam Lyth bowled Matt Milnes, 51.

Good catch going low to his left at second slip from Lyth.

Milnes has his second wicket.

Key man John Simpson in now alongside Daniel Hughes, who has 56. Break this partnership and you feel Yorkshire are well on their way, if they aren’t already.

Up and running

Jack White gets us underway on day four, with Danial Ibrahim on strike with 50 to his name.

Sussex 115-3, trailing by 208. Daniel Hughes has 56.

Breezy morning at North Marine Road

There is quite the breeze coming across the ground this morning. The sun’s out, but it’s pretty chilly.

Happy Yorkshire Day

Let’s celebrate with a win, hey.

Good morning...

From North Marine Road, where it’s dry and bright ahead of day four. There was some overnight rain here, but we’re ok now.

Yorkshire are aiming for seven more wickets to win their third Rothesay County Championship match of the season.

They may well need a few runs, too, but let’s deal with that later, as Sussex have plenty to do to get there given they are 115-3 and trailing by 208 overnight.

It will take them until around tea to get level assuming they hold firm.

That’s certainly what they did from just before tea last night, recovering from 20-3 to reach close without any further alarm. Daniel Hughes and Danial Ibrahim both made unbeaten half-centuries.

Should Yorkshire win today, they would go above Durham in the Division One table. Durham were beaten inside three days by Surrey at the Riverside yesterday.

They could also close the gap on Essex, who are playing out what looks to be a high-scoring draw against Warwickshire at Chelmsford.
