Live: Derbyshire Falcons v Yorkshire Women, Vitality Blast

Good afternoon from the Central Co-op County Ground, Derby, where Yorkshire's women are in Vitality Blast action against the Derbyshire Falcons. Follow this page for live updates. We get underway at 2.30pm.

YORKSHIRE WIN!!!!

Caitlin McDonald lbw Jess Woolston, 0.

Trapped in front on the back leg, and Derbyshire are 104 all out inside 16 overs, and Yorkshire win by 59 runs. That’s our third win in three in the North Group. Superb.

Cooper, Slater, Thomas and Woolston all finished with two wickets apiece following Campbell’s 43 not out.

Derbyshire 103-9, 15.4 overs

Gemma Rose caught Amelia Oliver bowled Jess Woolston, 2.

Skewed to short third. Yorkshire nearly there!

Derbyshire 100-8, 14.2 overs

Francesca Clarke caught Ami Campbell bowled Claudie Cooper, 0.

Caught at cover, and Copper has two in two balls.

Gemma Rose survives hat-trick ball.

Derbyshire 100-7, 14.1 overs

Maria Andrews bowled Claudie Cooper, 11.

Advanced down the track and beaten.

We think Yorkshire will need to keep Derbyshire to around the 130-mark for a bonus point.

Derbyshire 90-6, 12.2 overs

Adrianna Darlow caught behind Maddie Ward bowled Olivia Thomas, 9.

Top-edged sweep goes straight up and Ward does the rest. Thomas has two wickets.

164-target for the Falcons.

Derbyshire 77-5, 10.4 overs

Rhiannon Knowling-Davies bowled Olivia Thomas, 5.

Bowled on the sweep, and leg-spinner Thomas bounces back well from that expensive over earlier. Derbyshire a long way from home in their chase of 164.

Derbyshire 63-4, 7.5 overs

Ella Porter run out and Jess Couser caught Claudie Cooper bowled Ria Fackrell, 42.

Porter pushed to Rebecca Duckworth in the covers, confusion and run out at bowler’s end.

Three balls later, Couser picks out Cooper at mid-on. Particularly big wicket that, and Yorkshire have the game by the throat again, defending 164.

Couser attacks

Jess Couser has taken a liking to Olivia Thomas and finishes the seventh over with 4,4,4.6 to move to 42 out of 63-2. Derbyshire have a foothold in the chase of 164.

Derbyshire 26-2, 3 overs

Megan Pittman bowled Rachel Slater, 1.

Bowled playing back to one she should have got forward to. Swing did her.

Two early wickets for Slater on her comeback.

Derbyshire 10-1, 1 over

Lara Shaw caught Ami Campbell bowled Rachel Slater, 10.

Caught at mid-wicket off a miscued pulled. Derbyshire chasing 164.

Rachel Slater has the new ball

Derbyshire’s chase of 164 is underway. They are 6-0 in the first over.

Derbyshire must be sick of the sight of our Ami

Ami Campbell

Ami Campbell has played three times against Derbyshire this season, posting 165 not out, 41 not out and 43 not out.

That’s 249 runs without dismissal.

Yorksgire 163-5, 20 overs

Yorkshire take 31 off the last two overs combined to finish with a flourish.

Ami Campbell 43 not out off 20 balls and Ria Fackrell 19 not out off 10.

One over remains in the Yorkshire innings

Shot a ball stuff now from Ami Campbell and Ria Fackrell, who have 35 and 12 respectively in Yorkshire’s 148-5.

Yorkshire 121-5, 16.5 overs

Rebecca Duckworth caught Harriett Parkin bowled Adrianna Darlow, 2.

Sliced to backward point.

Ria Fackrell in alongside Ami Campbell now.

Yorkshire 116-4, 16 overs

Sterre Kalis bowled Caitlin McDonald, 32.

Good yorker at the base of leg-stump does for Kalis as she tried to make room to carve through the off-side.

Ami Campbell, 17, is joined at the crease by Rebecca Duckworth.

Kalis and Campbell on the charge

Yorkshire are 113-3 midway through the 16th over.

Sterre Kalis has 28 and Ami Campbell 18.

Yorkshire 89-3, 13.3 overs

Maddie Ward caught behind Megan Pittman bowled Adrianna Darlow, 9.

Sterre Kalis has 26 and has been joined at the crease by Ami Campbell, who has happy memories of this ground following her big hundred in 50-over cricket here earlier this season.

Yorkshire 79-2, 11.5 overs

Amelia Oliver caught Adrianna Darlow bowled Maria Andrews, 23.

Caught at mid-wicket.

Maddie Ward is in alongside Sterre Kalis, 25.

Rain has passed through

Play set to resume, with Yorkshire 66-1 after 10 overs.

We're off for rain at 66-1 after 10 overs

Sterre Kalis has 14 and Amelia Oliver 21.

The umpires tried to ride out the rain, but it’s got heavier in the last minute or two. Don’t expect it to be too long a delay.

Playing through some pretty heavy rain

Sterre Kalis has started very nicely, with two boundaries in 12. Yorkshire 62-1 in the 10th over.

Yorkshire 42-1. 6.5 overs

Georgie Boyce caught Lara Shaw bowled Rhiannon Knowling-Davies, 23.

Caught on the pull running in from deep mid-wicket.

Sterre Kalis in now, alongside Amelia Oliver, who has 13.

Boyce on the attack

Georgie Boyce hammers the left-arm pace of Caitlin McDonald down the ground for four and then gets the same reward for dragging her through wide long-on. Both aerial. She has 21 of 38-0 after five.

Yorkshire 24-0, 4 overs

Georgie Boyce has 13 0f them and Amelia Oliver 10. Both have found the boundary.

Yorkshire 8-0, 2 overs

Just the one boundary so far, going to Georgie Boyce as she rocked back and cut the left-arm spin of Maria Andrews through cover.

Top billing

This is the only domestic fixture on the county schedule for today – women’s or men’s.

Play is about to get underway. Georgie Boyce and Amelia Oliver opening the batting.

Rain has stopped

For now, at least.

Suspect we’re in for an afternoon of a few showers. But the cover is off, and we’re on course for a 2.30pm start.

Rachel Slater

Yorkshire won it and elected to bat

Yorkshire: Georgie Boyce, Amelia Oliver, Sterre Kalis, Maddie Ward c&w, Ami Campbell, Rebecca Duckworth, Olivia Thomas, Ria Fackrell, Rachel Slater, Claudie Cooper, Jess Woolston.

It’s actually raining quite hard now at the Central Co-op County Ground. The covers are back on, but the players continue to warm up.

More fireworks?

We will be playing this fixture on the same pitch which saw Lancashire’s men post 243-7 against Derbyshire last night.

Derbyshire’s head of cricket Mickey Arthur described it as “a hell of a good wicket”.

Derbyshire CCC

Good afternoon...

From Derby, where it’s muggy. There’s been a bit of rain around in the last half hour, since arriving.

The covers have been on, but they’ve just been taken off as I type.

Yorkshire are searching for a third successive North Group victory, and they face a Falcons side who have won two from three so far.

The White Rose have not been in action since a week last Sunday, when they beat Leicestershire Foxes at Headingley.

The players are warming up at present, and Yorkshire have named a pretty experienced squad even though they continue to contend with some injuries and unavailability.

Sterre Kalis has been named by Rich Pyrah’s as she continues to match up a loan spell with the Bears and appearances for the White Rose.
