4.50pm – Confirmation of the draw comes. That’s our third in four games.

Result Der

4.40pm – We’re off for bad light at 59-1 after 21. Lyth 20 and Revis 0. That will likely be that. Yorkshire will take 16 points from the draw.

4.38pm – WICKET! Bean lbw attempting to pull Lloyd’s off-spin, 33. 59-1 in the 21st over. Revis in now. Lyth 20.

4.18pm – Yorkshire 43-0 from 15 overs. Bean has 22 of them and Lyth 15. Derbyshire have rectified their -3 over-rate.

4.01pm – We’re up and running after tea. Yorkshire 14-0, leading by 17. Bean 7, Lyth 5.

3.41pm – Tea. We have reached 13-0 from nine overs at the break, five of them bowled by spin as Derbyshire look to improve their over-rate. Lyth 4, Bean 7.

3.31pm – Five overs through Yorkshire’s second innings, 9-0.

3.15pm – Yorkshire will start the second innings with a minimum of 43 overs left in the match.

3.07pm – WICKET! Brown trapped lbw by Root (3-78). Brown falls for 15, and Derbyshire are 447 all out. Fisher finishes with 4-96 from 27 overs.

2.50pm – WICKET! Chappell caught at gully by Bean off Fisher for 78. 418-9 in the 109th, and Yorkshire have claimed the full allocation of bonus points available in the match – eight. Fisher with his fourth.

2.42pm – WICKET! Donald caught behind off Root for 97. Derbyshire 406-8 in the 108th over.

2.33pm – There is now a race on for the remaining bonus points. Derbyshire are 382-7 in the 106th over. They need 18 inside another three-and-a-bit overs for a fourth batting point. We need two more wickets in that time for a third bowling point. Donald 96, Chappell 45.

Chappell has now reached his fifty off 48 balls with a second six. 389-7.

2.21pm – Derbyshire have now moved to 357-7 in the 103rd over. Donald 86 and Chappell 29. They have shared 60.

1.46pm – Derbyshire have avoided the follow-on. They are 301-7. We have just over 63 overs remaining in the day, so it’s pretty much certain that we’re heading for a draw. Yorkshire still have a couple of wickets to take for another bonus point.

1.40pm – We’re up and running after lunch. Thompson to Chappell. Derbyshire 297-7, needing four more runs to avoid the follow-on.

12.59pm – WICKET! Thomson caught at mid-wicket (Bean) off Thompson, 5. It’s 297-7 in the 94th over at lunch. Follow-on target 301 for Derbyshire. Donald 59 not out.

Wouldn’t be a bad time for a hat-trick.

12.51pm – WICKET! Thompson traps Dal lbw, 18. It’s 291-6. Derbyshire need 10 more to avoid the follow-on.

12.43pm – Last throw of the dice from Yorkshire as Thompson and Revis come into the attack. Derbyshire 286-5 in the 91st over. Donald 56 and Dal 15. They need 15 more to avoid the follow-on.

12.28pm – Donald has reached his fifty off 68 balls. Derbyshire 267-5, needing to reach 301 to avoid the follow-on.

12.11pm – Donald dropped on 35 at third slip by Bean off Fisher. 246-5 in the 83rd.

12.06pm – Coad has returned with the new ball. Derbyshire are 241-5 in the 81st, needing 60 to avoid the follow-on. Donald 32 and Dal 2.

And Fisher follows Coad.

11.56am – WICKET! Madsen caught in the mid-wicket region (Brook) having top-edged a sweep at Root. He falls for 104, and it’s 237-5 after 78. Madsen will be furious. That’s a real giveaway wicket.

11.53am – Madsen reaches his impressive century off 224 balls with 10x4s and 1x6s. Derbyshire 234-4 after 77 overs.

11.33am – Revis and Root into the attack for Yorkshire, no doubt owing much to the new ball being due in nine overs. Derbyshire need 89 to avoid the foll0w-on at 212-4. Madsen 94, Donald 15.

11.07am – WICKET! Ideal start for Yorkshire as Fisher bowls Guest for 75 – off-stump out of the ground. It’s 193-4. That wicket came 12 balls into the day.

11.03am – Fisher sharing the early morning bowling duties. Derbyshire 192-3.

11am – All set to go at Headingley. Coad will bowl to Guest on 74. Derbyshire are 190-3 in response to our 450-5 declared. The follow-on target is key – 301. If the visitors reach that target, the game will be a draw.

10.37am – Dawid Malan has also been part of the Yorkshire warm-ups this morning. Less than a month away until we see him in the Vitality Blast.

10.08am – Dickie Bird is out on the field having a chat with Ottis Gibson, Joe Root and Shan Masood. Either side of them, two small groups of Yorkshire players are having a kick about with a football and a rugby ball.

9.40am – Good news. We’ve just had confirmation that we will be starting at 11am.

8.37am – Good morning from Headingley, where it’s dry and bright ahead of day four of our Vitality County Championship fixture with Derbyshire.

All the covers are off now, and it’s looking promising. The practice nets are up, for example.

It’s likely that this Division Two match will end in a draw come 5 or 6pm this evening, given Yorkshire need 17 more wickets to win.

Derbyshire are 190-3 in reply to Yorkshire’s 450-5 declared. The visitors need to reach 301 to avoid the follow-on, so a special morning with the ball could open the door again for Shan Masood and his men.

Headingley

Realistically, you would think that Yorkshire have to bowl Derbyshire out just before lunch to have a shout of forcing a result. Certainly not impossible.

In lieu of a match report from yesterday, we published an article with Harry Brook talking about his early-season county commitments. Brook also spoke about the passing of his grandmother, Pauline, and the forthcoming T20 World Cup.

Glamorgan here on Friday is potentially his last county appearance of the summer.

We also had a quick word with captain Shan Masood about the appointment of Yorkshire legend Jason Gillespie as Pakistan’s new Test Match coach.
