2008-2010: Blast-Off
Lyth’s journey to becoming our top run-scorer in the format started alongside his now head coach Anthony McGrath.
A duck on debut against Durham wasn’t the ideal start to his Yorkshire career, but he soon showed what he was capable of. In the 2010 season, he scored 227 runs in 10 innings with a high score of 59 against Worcestershire.
That was just the start of a record
2014: Unreal catches from Lyth and Finch
It might have been the early days of social media, but it was set alight when Adam Lyth and Aaron Finch produced magic on the boundary rope in the Roses T20 at Old Trafford.
The reaction only got crazier when they produced almost exactly the same a few days later against Leicestershire at Headingley!
Lyth has produced plenty of heroic catches during our Blast games throughout the year, not least a spectacular slide in the home Roses T20 last year as we secured back-to-back wins.
2017: A record-breaking innings
Eight years on and still unbeaten, Adam Lyth’s magnificent 161 from 73 is the biggest T20 innings ever scored in England.
Coming up against the defending champions Northants didn’t phase the Whitby Lara who found 20 fours and 7 sixes on his way to the mammoth total.
He inspired his side to a total of 260-4, a score that’s only been beaten once since in England, and a thumping 124 run victory.
2019: 5-31 with the ball

Fielding, batting, bowling, he can do it all.
One of Lyth’s finest Blast performances came in 2019 as he took 5-31 alongside 48 with the bat at Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
Now firmly one of Yorkshire’s most reliable players, Lyth stood up when it mattered in a crucial game in the closing fixtures of the group stage.
It wasn’t enough to get Yorkshire the victory, but the single-handed impact he made to the match means it’s still a memorable moment.
2022: 525 on the way to Finals Day

Lyth was a crucial part of the side that took Yorkshire to Finals Day in 2022, topping Yorkshire’s run-scoring charts once again.
His mammoth 525, including 77 against Durham and 68 against Birmingham, were pivotal in our journey to the competition’s climax for just the third time.

Lyth showed why he’s maintained his place in the Yorkshire team for so long with another spectacular year in 2024.
He became the first Yorkshire player to reach 4,000 total T20 with a devastating 84 against Derbyshire, and there’s no sign of slowing down.
With a mouth-watering Roses clash, a first ever Vitality Blast game in York and huge double-headers to come this season there’s loads more memories to be made.
