The Yorkshire County Cricket Club honoured more of the pioneers of county’s women’s side with caps awarded to those who contributed to the Club.

As the Club celebrated silverware earned by our current Women’s side, who lifted the Metro Bank One Day Cup League Two trophy this month, it also recognised those who came before.

A number of former players were invited to a celebration during the final Men’s game of the season at Headingley, where they were awarded caps based upon their service to the club before taking a lap of the outfield during the lunch interval.

Yorkshire Blue and Yellow Caps were given to those who played for more than 10 years for the county while Yorkshire Blue Caps with a yellow tassel were awarded to players who represented the county for less than 10 years.

It’s the third time the club have honoured its former players during a similar event.

As time goes on, caps will be presented to players as they reach their milestones, this included surprising current Yorkshire bowler Beth Langston with her cap during the ceremony.
