Yorkshire County Cricket Club was deeply saddened by the passing of Harold “Dickie” Bird MBE OBE – a true legend of Yorkshire and world cricket.

A funeral service to remember Dickie’s life will take place on Sunday 19 October at 2pm at St Mary’s Church, Barnsley, followed by a private family committal.

Anyone who wishes to attend Dickie Bird’s funeral service is asked to arrive at St Marys Church (S70 2AH) by no later than 1.20pm, with the service due to start at 2pm.  After the service, there will be a private family committal at Barnsley Crematorium.  Mourners are invited to wait in church where refreshments will be served and the wake at the Town Hall is from 4pm, which is open to invited guests only.
The middle pews in the church will be reserved for family and close friends.
