“We’ll be the first to admit we haven’t been at our best with the bat against the red ball this season,” said Tattersall. “It doesn’t matter what pitch you’re faced with, you still have to go out there and score the runs.
“It is a bit flatter out there with not much in it for the bowlers.
“Hopefully we can get up towards their score. You never know. If Tom is still there with wickets in hand, we maybe can have a burst at them towards the end of the day if we get a full day’s play.
“The rain has got the better of things there, but it was nice to get a hundred partnership with Tom to put us in a good position.
“We’ve nullified their position of strength after getting 400 in the first innings.
“It was a key partnership and was good to get some runs.”

Only three overs of play were possible during the third afternoon between Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire at Trent Bridge due to rain.
Yorkshire have advanced to 357-5 from 103 overs as they reply to Notts’ first-innings 448.
The visitors require 43 more runs in seven overs for a fifth batting bonus point as this match heads for a draw.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore is unbeaten on 92 and Tim Bresnan is 11 not out.
It is still raining, with no immediate prospect of a resumption.

Lunch Report
Fifth-wicket pair Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Jonny Tattersall batted through all but 10 minutes of the third morning to help Yorkshire close in on Nottinghamshire’s first-innings 448 at Trent Bridge.
Resuming on 258-4, the White Rose’s first innings has reached lunch at 344-5 from 100 overs, trailing by 104.
Kohler-Cadmore is closing in on his first Specsavers County Championship century since moving from Worcestershire midway through last year.
He will begin the afternoon on 90 with Tim Bresnan on four.
Tattersall posted a 132-ball fifty and had reached 51 when he edged Harry Gurney behind to a diving Tom Moores, leaving the score at 334-5 in the 98th over.
Tattersall and Kohler-Cadmore shared 102.
There will be an early afternoon race for bonus points in good batting conditions, with Yorkshire needing to reach 400 in 110 overs to secure the maximum five batting points.

11.50am A couple of chances for Notts so far this morning, chief among them Tattersall dropped at second slip by Mullaney. He has just flashed Footitt wide of gully for four, although the fielder got a hand on it. Would have been a sensational catch. Yorkshire 318-4.

Good morning from a gloriously sunny Trent Bridge, where it is warm this morning ahead of day three.
Yorkshire in a healthy state at 258-4 in reply to Notts’ first-innings 448 all out.
Gary Ballance’s 104 was backed by an unbeaten half-century for Tom Kohler-Cadmore and 47 from Harry Brook. Kohler-Cadmore needs to go on from his 57 this morning.
All results remain possible, although I accept it would take something special for Yorkshire to win from here, and a draw would be a useful result when you look at the Division One table.
If Yorkshire can get close to Notts by tea-time today, they could have an evening’s bowling to try and put the hosts under pressure.
