Headingley Stadium will host a first of its kind golf experience this Autumn in collaboration with US based golf company, Stadium Golf Tour.
The new tour has been created to give golfers the opportunity to play in some of the most iconic stadia in the world, including now the home of The Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
For the ground-breaking event Headingley, will be transformed into a striking nine-hole golf course from Thursday, 5 October – Sunday 8 October, 2023.
Instead of just walking around the pitch, nine tee boxes will be specially constructed on raised platforms around the stadium bowl in the cricket ground. Golfers will then hit shots onto the related green situated on the pitch, with a self-scoring system from Eagle to Double Bogie, depending on how close to the hole they get, while others may just want to enjoy the shots and not keep score.
The format allows each golfer to witness the atmosphere of the stadium, while taking part in engaging and competitive golf for groups of up to eight at a time.
In addition to the nine-hole course, golfers will receive access to “The Clubhouse” and booking options will offer access to two state-of-the-art simulators, with a long drive and nearest the pin challenge, a chipping zone, and a long putt challenge. As well as the golf challenges, golfers will be able to enjoy a great selection of clubhouse classics and drinks.
Headingley Cricket Ground has witness many iconic moments including the memorable moment Ben Stokes celebrated with Jack Leach after he hit the winning runs and finishing on 135 not out against Australia.
