Scorecard

On a beautiful Autumnal morning Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat. Slow progress was made in the morning session with 13 of the 32 overs being maidens. Finlay Bean was the only batter to be dismissed (21 from 98 balls) and at lunch we were 48-1, James Wharton 20 not out.

Wharton departed soon after lunch for 29 from 105 balls. Tom Loten reached his half century from 78 balls with 8 fours but shortly after George Hill was lbw for nine and skipper, Jordan Thompson, lasted only 14 balls before being caught behind and tea was taken with us 152-4 – Loten 64 not out and Ben Birkhead yet to score.

Loten was caught at the wicket first ball after tea leading to us losing five wickets for 25 runs (177-9). Ben Birkhead was joined by Josh Sullivan and they took the score to 222 before Birkhead was bowled for 42 from 78 balls – he and Josh had added 45 in 70 balls.

Durham had seven overs to bat and reached 12 without loss at the close.
