Winning the toss Yorkshire elected to bat first and reached 20 when the 13th ball of the day dismissed Will Luxton and unfortunately 20-1 became 41-4 as James Wharton, George Hill and Jonny Tattersall all returned to the Pavilion.

Finlay Bean and Harry Duke added 26 before the former was caught at deep square leg for 16. Duke made 26 from 34 deliveries but as wickets fell regularly Yorkshire somewhat limped to 106-9 with only eight boundary fours and almost half of balls faced being “dot balls”.

Leicestershire were reduced to 24-3 in their reply but a partnership of 51 in 50 balls wrestled the game in their favour, Kimber finishing 46 not out from 38 balls as they reached their target with 16 balls to spare.
