Yorkshire resumed on day three at 126 for 5, a lead of 142.

Jordan Thompson and Harry Duke had shared a partnership of 35 and took this to 79 before Duke was bowled for 36, made from 111 balls with 5 fours. Thompson reached his half century shortly after and a brief but entertaining innings by Mat Pillans took us to 186 for 7 when he was caught at mid off. Ed Barnes joined his skipper and they remained unbeaten at lunch, 233 for 7, a lead of 249 with 61 overs remaining – Thompson 76 not out.

Yorkshire batted a further four overs after lunch taking the score to 262-8 – a lead of 278 – before declaring. This left Durham a target of 279 in a minimum of 55 overs. Clark was caught and bowled by Ed Barnes for five and the other opener, Jones was caught at second slip by Finlay Bean off Jordan Thompson for 14. However Bell and Bushnell remained unbeaten at tea with the score 101 for 2 needing a further 178. Bushnell 28 not out from 34 balls and Bell 50 not out from 53 balls with 10 fours.

Bushnell and Bell took their partnership to 145 and the latter had reached his century from 121 balls with 19 fours when he was caught at deep mid wicket off Josh Sullivan and at this juncture Durham required 89 from 13 overs. Jordan Thompson bowled Bushnell who made 69 bringing 16 year old Tom Mackintosh to the crease – he made 23 from 19 balls before being bowled by Ed Barnes.

Stuart Poynter and James Weighell took the game in to the last over and despite Poynter being run out for 40, Weighell hit the winning boundary with only two balls remaining to seal a four wicket victory.
