Age-Group
Throughout 2024 and 2025, ECB have been conducting a formal review into the County Age Group Competition Structure that is currently set-out includes formats, age-groups and competitions delivered as part of the programme. Following the publishing of the ECB Talent Action Plan there have been a number of changes that we are wanting to make you aware of prior to the commencement of the 2025/26 Programme.
Firstly, there will be an overall changes to the age-groups that are run for the 2025/26 Programme. These have been added below:
- Early Engagement Programme (U10-U12)
- Under 13s County Age Group
- Under 14s County Age Group
- Under 16s County Age Group
- Under 18s County Age Group
As you can see above with the change the removal of County Age Group U11s, will see a shift to the programme and as part of the action plan “delay the start of a formal County Age Group Programme”. HOWEVER, this WILL NOT mean we do not run anything for these age groups.
For U10 to U12, this programme will now form the title of Early Engagement, which will see a wider pool of players selected, to widen the base of entry into the Pathway. This will include a formal winter and summer programme.
Observation Days, will still run for the Early Engagement Programme as they would for County Age Group.
Please see below School Year Group to Age-Group comparison to assist with the completion of the sign-up.
