The Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) is a members’ club established 160 years ago and is renowned throughout the world. The Club owns one of the premier international cricket venues in the world and has hosted some of the most iconic matches in the history of cricket. Our remit covers men and women’s recreational as well as premier league cricket across the county.

This is a critical and exciting time to take up the position of Chair of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club, one of the world’s most famous and successful cricket clubs. Building on a significant and demonstrable progress of the last year, we seek an ambitious, determined, and talented Chair who will drive the Club forward, putting Cricket at the forefront, and continuing the transformational change to ensure it remains an inclusive, progressive organisation which is underpinned by sound commercial and financial strength.

Working in close collaboration with our Chief Executive Officer and the Board, the Chair will play an invaluable role in developing and executing our strategy, ensuring a strong commercial and financial footing, engaging with key stakeholders, and driving the game forward in a way that informs best practice.

An inherently inclusive and values driven leader, the successful candidate will be adept at working effectively in a multi-stakeholder environment acting as an advocate and ambassador for the Club. They will offer a collaborative leadership style, seeking out a diverse range of views and needs providing guidance, support, sound judgment and constructive challenge to help drive consensus. Financially astute and with strong commercial acumen, they will play an integral role to help us achieve our goal to become a beacon for sporting excellence and inclusion, within our local community, the UK and worldwide.

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is committed to recruiting ambitious, talented and diverse individuals who will be vital to ensure that the Club is an inclusive home for aspiring players of the future. We therefore encourage applications from all qualified individuals. We value diversity and acknowledge the under-representation of people from certain backgrounds, both within the Club and across the sector. We welcome applications from women, Black, Asian and minority ethnic people, and disabled people; these are currently under-represented.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification. Any initial enquiries should be directed to Joe Blanch on +44 (0)20 7340 6258 or [email protected]

The deadline for applications is 9am GMT on Monday 20th February 2023.

Following this, Perrett Laver will meet with the Selection Committee to agree upon a shortlist of candidates. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to initial conversations with the Club in the latter half of March and formal interviews will take place thereafter at Headingley Cricket Ground.

Details of the application process may be found here
