We are delighted to announce we are now recruiting for our award winning Yorkies Welcome Team for 2022. Our Yorkies team work hard each season to provide a welcoming experience to all spectators at Headingley Cricket Ground and other associated out grounds across the county.

Why me?

If you are passionate about volunteering in sport, like helping others and want to join a team of fun, dynamic individuals, the Yorkies Welcome Team is for you!

“Being part of the Yorkies is like a sense of belonging, meeting other like-minded people and having fun” – Haroon, Yorkie

What do our Yorkies do?

Our Yorkies Welcome Team help on a variety of match day roles, centered around creating a warm welcome to all spectators at our home grounds across the county. By helping at the gates, on local transport routes, on ticket collections, directing spectators to their seats, helping in the YCCC Museum and generally there to offer a helping hand, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

This year, we will be asking our Yorkies to volunteer from gates opening, during the interval and post game at Yorkshire Viking T20, International and Northern Diamonds fixtures, however there will be opportunities between voluntary duties to take in the live action!

What do we do for our Yorkies?

We provide our Yorkies with a safe, fun, meaningful volunteering experience within the arena of a professional sporting environment. Our Yorkies receive training to better understand the requirements of the roles they may be doing on a match day and given all the information they require to complete their roles to an exceptional level. This year, we have rebranded the team and all Yorkies will be given a new and improved uniform to keep, which they will be expected to wear whilst on duty!

How do I get more information?
