Jess Jonassen claimed 3-25 but Alice Monaghan’s unbeaten 29 not out steered Surrey home despite a mid-innings wobble.

From Headingley, where it’s an absolute belter of a day weather wise.
It’s our first home double header of the summer.
Our women tackle defending Blast champions Surrey.
On Friday night, we were beaten by The Blaze at Trent Bridge, while Surrey got their title defence off to a winning start against Lancashire at the Kia Oval.
That gets going at 11.30am.
Our men face Derbyshire Falcons from 3.30pm. We beat Nottinghamshire on Friday night, while Derbyshire were beaten at home by Durham.

A preview to the women’s game comes from vice captain Rachel Slater talking chiefly about 17-year-old leg-spinner Holly Garton, who claimed three wickets at Trent Bridge – Beaumont, Bryce and Elwiss. Not bad for a Tier 1 intro, hey!
The men’s preview is with Jonny Bairstow talking about his use of George Hill with the new ball and the development of James Wharton.
