Yorkshire will claim 13 points and Middlesex 11, cutting the gap between the two sides to one point with three games to play.

Yorkshire are third and Middlesex second in Division Two.

Even though Sam Robson (108) and Ryan Higgins, who is unbeaten on 117, completed centuries yesterday, advancing the visitors from 141-1 to that 441-5, Yorkshire controlled the rate superbly in bowling 100 plus overs in the day yesterday.

Dom Bess claimed four wickets and, as he quipped last night before starting his media duties, “I’m still on for a nine-for”.

Whichever team is bowling late in this game, it’s likely that we will see all manner of bowlers employed today – wicketkeepers taking their pads off to bowl, that type of thing.
