5.59pm – Saud Shakeel has played a couple of lovely drives for four in moving to 10. We are 35-1 after 12 overs – 10 remaining today. The floodlights are on.

5.33pm – WICKET! Yorkshire have advanced to 21-0 in the sixth over. Oh hang on, make that 21-1. Lyth has been trapped lbw by van der Gugten, 17.

5.03pm – WICKET! McIlroy has been well caught at third slip by a diving Bean off Hill, who finishes with three to match Edwards. Glamorgan are 245 all out in the 72nd over. Yorkshire will have 22 overs of batting to do before close. Yorkshire ahead, but not by a distance you feel.

4.48pm – WICKET! Harris is caught at second slip by Lyth off Fisher. Glamorgan are 228-9.

4.32pm – We’re up and running after tea. Glamorgan are 219-8 as Fisher bowled to van der Gugten.

4.14pm – Tea. Yorkshire have enjoyed a six-wicket opening afternoon to edge ahead against Glamorgan at Headingley.

The home bid for a first LV= Insurance County Championship win of the season looks to be in an encouraging position after Glamorgan, 83-2 at lunch, reached tea at 215-8.

Mickey Edwards claimed three wickets and George Hill two during the middle session of day one, the latter getting Marnus Labuschagne caught behind for 65.

That was Jonny Bairstow’s third catch of the day and second of the afternoon. His first catch of the session was a stunning one-handed take diving away to his left after Kiran Carlson had inside-edged Hill’s seamers.

Edwards struck three balls into the afternoon when Sam Northeast, on 49, misjudged a short ball and edged high to third slip off his bat handle as he tried to leave alone.

Hill then got Carlson and determined Labuschagne before Chris Cooke clipped Jordan Thompson to mid-wicket.

Edwards bowled fellow Aussie Michael Neser as he left alone and then had Billy Root caught at backward point, leaving Glamorgan 199-8 in the 60th over.

Timm van der Gugten and James Harris will begin the evening session on 21 and four respectively.

3.54pm – WICKET! Root caught at backward point by Tattersall (sub) off Edwards, who has three-for. Glamorgan are 199-8 in the 60th over.

3.32pm – WICKET! Neser leaves Edwards alone and is bowled for 9. Glamorgan are 174-7 in the 56th over.

3.18pm – WICKET! Cooke chips Thompson to mid-wicket, where Fisher takes the catch. He falls for seven, and Glamorgan are 161-6 in the 53rd over.

3.06pm – WICKET! George Hill gets Australian star Labuschagne caught behind for 65. It’s 154-5.

2.44pm – WICKET! Carlson caught behind brilliantly by Bairstow off Hill – one-handed going to his left off an inside-edge, 16. Glamorgan are 135-4 after 44 overs. Billy Root joins Labuschagne (54) at the crease.

2.34pm – Labuschagne reaches his fifty off 142 balls with 8x4s, his latest flicked through mid-wicket off Hill to get him to his milestone. 128-3 in the 42nd.

2.09pm – Ah, Ben Coad has just left the field after five balls of his 10th over with what looks to be a thigh or groin issue. Fisher finishes the over. Glamorgan 96-3 after 35. Labuschagne 31.

1.43pm – WICKET! Northeast tries to leave Edwards alone, turns his back on the delivery and it seems to take the shoulder of the bat or even handle and loops to Bean at third slip. He goes for 49, 83-3 three balls after lunch. Great start to the afternoon.

1.04pm – Lunch. Glamorgan have recovered from a nightmare start which saw them slip to 1-2 on the opening morning of the LV= Insurance County Championship match at Headingley.

The Welshmen have reached lunch at 83-2 from 29 overs through experienced duo Marnus Labuschagne and Sam Northeast, who both survived scares to advance to 19 and 49.

Northeast was dropped on nine at second slip by Adam Lyth off Matthew Fisher before Australian Test star Labuschagne was the subject of a vociferous caught behind appeal on 10 off the bowling of Mickey Edwards.

On a green-tinged pitch, the third-wicket pair have survived and advanced their side into an encouraging position having been invited to bat first by Lyth.

Jonny Bairstow has come into Yorkshire’s team as the only change from last month’s draw against Sussex at Hove, replacing Shai Hope behind the stumps.

Ben Coad claimed both wickets to fall with the new ball.

He had David Lloyd caught behind by Bairstow following a big booming drive at the fourth ball of the match before Andrew Salter was later trapped lbw – also for a duck.

12.30pm – Marnus Labuschagne survives a scare on 10 when Mickey Edwards and the Yorkshire team go up in unison for a caught behind appeal. They are stunned when Ian Blackwell turns it down. 50-2 in the 22nd.

12.16pm – It’s been a pretty impressive recovery from Glamorgan from 1-2. They are now 40-2 in the 19th over. Northeast has 25 and Labuschagne 10.

12pm – Mickey Edwards has just replaced Coad in the attack. Glamorgan have moved to 33-2 in the 15th over, with Labuschagne 10 and Northeast 19 having steadied following the loss of the openers.

11.33am – Oh no, Lyth has just handed Northeast a life at second slip off Fisher on 9. Glamorgan are 12-2 after eight overs.

11.23am – Ben Coad has just taken his 200th wicket in the County Championship. This is his 51st appearance. What a bowler.

11.18am – WICKET! Salter trapped lbw by Coad, 0. Glamorgan are 1-2 in the fifth over. Sam Northeast walks out to the middle.

11.10am – There is definitely a distinct green tinge to this pitch, with a bit more grass left on compared to the first game here against Leicestershire.

11.09am – A couple of maidens on the bounce for Yorkshire. Matthew Fisher backs up Coad’s good work in the first.

11.02am – WICKET! Lloyd caught behind having edged a big booming drive at Coad’s first ball. 0-1. What a start for Yorkshire. Marnus Labuschagne in at first drop.

10.53am – Here is the link to our match preview for this fixture.

9.50am – Before we get going, let’s have a look around the grounds at the other fixtures taking place.

DIV TWO

Derbyshire v Leicestershire, The Incora County Ground

Worcestershire v Sussex, New Road

DIV ONE

Essex v Surrey, The Cloud County Ground

Hampshire v Warwickshire, The Ageas Bowl

Nottinghamshire v Lancashire, Trent Bridge

Somerset v Northamptonshire, The Cooper Associates County Ground

8.38am – Good morning from Headingley, where it is an overcast start to the day ahead of our clash with Glamorgan.

This fourth round Division Two fixture sees Yorkshire go in search of a first win after a defeat and two draws, and Jonny Bairstow is back to lend a hand. He will come up against Australian rivals Marnus Labuschagne and Michael Neser, who are in the Glamorgan team as overseas players.

There is heck of a lot of focus on Division Two this week, with Steve Smith making his Sussex debut at Worcester.

The Division One meeting of Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson – Nottinghamshire v Lancashire – at Trent Bridge flies under the radar a bit.

But it is here at Headingley where the most important events take place.

The players are just starting their warm-ups.

We will have a live stream available as usual. You can access it via the Match Centre tab at the top of the page. We’re all set for an 11am start.
