4.40pm – YORKSHIRE WIN!!!! Hill gets Wright caught by Fisher running around towards cover from mid-off, and Hill has 6-59. Leicestershire 209 all out. We win by an innings and 72 and take 22 points to move second in the table for now. Fabulous performance.

4.31pm – WICKET! Currie bowled by Hill, who has a fabulous five-for. That’s the second of his career in Championship cricket, and Leicestershire are 193-9, trailing by 88. Nearly there….

4.21pm – WICKET! Scriven trapped lbw by Hill, 2. It’s 189-8 in the 50th over, a deficit of 92.

4.16pm – The clouds don’t look particularly great in the distance.

4.14pm – We’re in the early stages of the evening session. Leicestershire 187-7 in the 48th over, a deficit of 94. Hill bowling to Scriven.

3.02pm – WICKET! Kimber trapped lbw by Hill, 8, and it’s 146-5 in the 36th over.

2.47pm – WICKET! Rahane has played on trying to pull Coad, 32. Huge wicket. Leicestershire 131-4 in the 33rd.

2.46pm – Ahmed has reached his fifty off 47 balls with 7x4s and 1x6s. Leicestershire 131-3 in the 33rd over.

2.41pm – The players are on their way back out to the middle, with the rain having passed through.

2.33pm – We shouldn’t be long off a resumption. The rain seems to have passed through, and there’s plenty of blue sky in the distance.

2.30pm – We’re off for rain again, with Leicestershire at 126-3 in the 32nd over, a deficit of 155. Ahmed is 49 and Rahane 28.

2.17pm – Ahmed is playing his shots and has 38 out of 106-3 in the 29th over. He has just carved Coad through the covers.

2.15pm – Gloucestershire have declared on 309-9 in reply to Middlesex’s first-innings 377 at Lord’s.

2pm – We’re up and running, with 61 overs remaining in the day. Leicestershire 90-3 after 24 of their second innings, Rahane 14, Ahmed 27. They trail by 191.

1.47pm – We will be restarting here at 2pm.

1.34pm – There will be an inspection here at 1.45pm.

1.12pm – It has stopped raining, but there’s a decent amount of mopping up to do. The umpires are out having a look.

12.58pm – The rain continues to fall at Grace Road. The afternoon session will be delayed.

12.23pm – Yorkshire captain Shan Masood has been named in the Stallions’ squad for a one-day tournament to be played in Pakistan running from tomorrow through until September 29. That would rule him out of the rest of the county season.

12.20pm – Lunch is being taken now, and it’s raining hard here.

12.08pm – Off for rain again. Leicestershire 90-3 after 24 overs. Almost certainly early lunch.

12.04pm – We have 81 overs remaining in the day. Leicestershire 89-3 in the 24th over.

11.55am – At Hove, Sussex are 486-9 in reply to Glamorgan’s first-innings 186 all out. At Lord’s, Gloucestershire are 199-7 in reply to Middlesex’s 377 all out.

11.53am – Play will resume at 12.05pm here.

11.46am – The rain has stopped, and the covers are coming off. There’s blue sky in the distance too.

11.21am – We’re off for rain with Leicestershire at 88-3 in the 23rd over, trailing by 193.

11.15am – Thompson into the attack in place of Coad. Leicestershire 75-3 after 21 overs. The clouds all around us scream rain, but we’re dry at present. Double change as Hill replaces Fisher.

10.53am – WICKET! Hill is caught at second slip by Lyth low down off Fisher, 13, and it’s 53-3 after 16.

10.42am – Coad and Fisher on operation for Yorkshire as Leicestershire, through Hill and Rahane, move to 42-2.

10.28am – In theory, we have 104.5 overs in the day. Leicestershire will begin on 35-2 from 10.1 overs. Coad to continue. Rahane and Hill at the crease for the Foxes.

10.22am – We will be starting on time at 10.30am.

10.18am – We’re still awaiting confirmation regarding a start on time at 10.30am.

10.04am – Things looking much more promising for a start in the near future. The covers are nearly all off, and warm-ups are in full swing. Whether or not it’s 10.30am remains to be seen. If not, hopefully not longer afterwards.

9.46am – The covers are coming off, and the sun’s trying to poke through.

9.32am – The players are out warming up now, but the covers remain.

9.10am – Good morning from Grace Road, where it’s dry and bright overhead at present but seemingly very soggy underfoot. The covers are still on the square.

The early signs are that we could be in for a delayed start. The umpires, Jack Shantry and Chris Watts, have been out to have a look and have gone back inside. There are no signs of warm-ups beginning.

When play does begin, Yorkshire will hopefully just require eight wickets for victory. Leicestershire are 35-2 in their second innings and trail by 246 runs. Yorkshire have dominated this game on bowler-friendly pitch.

It has flattened out since the opening morning when Leicestershire were 15-7 in their first innings, but it would be no surprise to see it seam significantly once again with all the moisture about.

Sussex, in particular, and Middlesex are both in strong positions in their home games against Glamorgan and Gloucestershire respectively.
