Live: Bears v Yorkshire, Vitality Blast

Yorkshire are in Vitality Blast action against the Bears at Edgbaston this evening (7pm). Dawid Malan's side are bidding for their first win of the North Group.

Bears win by six wickets with an over to spare

Sam Hain finishes 24 not out.

Yorkshire have now played three, lost three in the Blast.

We face Leicestershire Foxes at Headingley on Sunday afternoon (3pm).

Hain takes O'Rourke for two fours and a six in penultimate

Sam Hain has iced this game with a couple of boundaries off Will O’Rourke and a six over mid-wicket.

Bears are 164-4 in the 19th over.

Bears 148-4, 18 overs

Moeen Ali caught Adam Lyth bowled Matt Milnes, 10.

Skewed out to deep cover.

Milnes finishes with excellent 3-23. Bears still need 17 to win. Yorkshire are in this.

Into the last four overs

Bears are 135-3, needing 30 more to win.

Bears 128-3, 14.5 overs

Alex Davies caught Matthew Revis bowled Matt Milnes, 65.

Good catch in the deep running forwards. Yorkshire have a glimmer, with the Bears needing 165.

Sam Hain and Moeen Ali at the crease.

Bears 123-2, 14.1 overs

Dan Mousley caught behind Harry Duke bowled Matt Milnes, 13.

Superbly caught behind by Duke, handing Milnes his first wicket. 165-target, with Alex Davies 61 and Sam Hain at the crease.

Jafer Chohan

Jafer Chohan and his Yorkshire team-mates have been unable to contain the Bears in pursuit of 165. They are 123-1 in the 14th over.

Bears 103-1, 11.3 overs

Tom Latham caught Matthew Revis bowled Dom Bess, 44.

Caught at deep mid-wicket.

Yorkshire are going to need a few more wickets very quickly.

Alex Davies 50

The Bears’ captain has reached his fifty off 30 balls, taking the score to 92-0 after 10 overs. They need 75 more to win.

Bears 85-0 after nine overs

The hosts are motoring along now. Alex Davies has 47 and Tom Latham 34. Whilst going along at a fair old rate, it hasn’t really felt like it’s been overdrive hitting. There’s been a lot of control and a lot of gap hitting.

Bears 41-0, five overs

Nothing too fancy from the Bears. Alex Davies has 27 and Tom Latham 11 as they pursue this 165.

Matt Milnes is searching for the breakthrough.

Bears 25-0 early in the fourth over

The Bears have got off to a steady start in pursuit of 165 thanks to Alex Davies and Tom Latham. Dom Bess is currently bowling the fourth over.

Early stages of the Bears' reply

They are 7-0 after one over from Dan Moriarty.

Tom Latham and Alex Davies are opening the batting for the Bears.

Yorkshire 164-7, 20 overs

Dawid Malan and James Wharton

Dawid Malan finishes with 69 not out off 48 balls, with Jafer Chohan adding 11 not out at the end.

Yorkshire have something to work with, but it should have been verging on a 200 total if not more. That loss of five wickets hurt them badly, as you’d expect.

Yorkshire 146-7, 17.2 overs

Matt Milnes run out, 2.

Oh no, Milnes has departed now.

He miscues Hassan Ali into the blockhole, sets off without really knowing where the ball is and is sent back. The bowler does the rest. Jafer Chohan is in now alongside Dawid Malan, who has 64.

Yorkshier 143-6, 16.3 overs

Harry Duke lbw Danny Briggs, 1.

Another one falls, and all of a sudden Yorkshire are in some trouble. Matt Milnes is in alongside Dawid Malan, who has 64. He’s really been starved of the strike in recent overs.

Yorkshire have fallen from 139-2 to 143-6.

Yorkshier 140-5, 15.5 overs

Now Moeen Ali has struck in the 16th, Dom Bess chipping to mid-wicket.

Yorkshire have lost three wickets in eight balls.

Harry Duke and David Malan, who has 62, are at the crease.

Yorkshire 139-4, 15 overs

Matthew Revis caught behind Alex Davies bowled Jake Lintott, 0.

Caught behind down leg. Two wickets in the over for the Bears’ left-arm wrist spinner.

Dom Bess in now.

Yorkshire 139-3, 14.4 overs

James Wharton caught Hassan Ali bowled Jake Lintott, 39.

Holed out to long-on, ending a 74-run partnership with Dawid Malan, who has 61.

He’s been joined at the crease by Matthew Revis.

Looks a good pitch

Yorkshire are in excellent order here at 132-2 in the 14th over, with Dawid Malan 60 and James Wharton 33.

But it looks a good pitch, so even 200 plus may not be out of reach for the Bears. We’re set for a belter of a game.

Malan 50

Dawid Malan

Dawid Malan has reached an excellent fifty off 32 balls, including a couple of sixes. Excellent.

Halfway-mark

Yorkshire 87-2 after 10 overs. Dawid Malan has 35 and James Wharton 15.

The latter has just hoisted a big six over long-on.

Decent platf0rm for the White Rose.

Yorkshire 65-2, 7.3 overs

Adam Lyth caught Jake Lintott bowled Moeen Ali, 7.

Lyth pulls Moeen’s off-spin to deep mid-wicket. James Wharton in now alongside Dawid Malan, who has 28.

Spin it to win it for the Bears?

Bears are going down the route of spin here. They have used four spinners in the first eight overs, with Moeen Ali following Danny Briggs, Dan Mousley and Jake Lintott into the attack.

Yorkshire have reached 65-1 in the eighth.

Yorkshire 49-1 after six overs

The visitors enjoy a decent power-play as Dawid Malan reaches 19, including a six, and Adam Lyth has 3. Bears have bowled four overs of spin in that first six.

Yorkshire 33-1, 4.1 overs

Will Luxton bowled Danny Briggs, 24.

A bright start is checked by the Bears’ left-arm spinner. Adam Lyth in at number three alongside Dawid Malan, who has 6.

Yorkshire off to a flyer

We’ve moved to 33-0 in the fourth over, with Luxton on 24. He has just hoisted Dan Mousley’s off-spin over wide long-on for six. Excellent.

Bright start for Luxton

Will Luxton has taken 12 of 13 off the first two overs, including a couple of boundaries.

Yorkshire 1-0 in the opening over

Dawid Malan and Will Luxton opening the batting for Yorkshire.

Bears win and bowl

Players start their warm-ups

After the conclusion of the women’s game, which the Bears won, the players have just started their warm-ups.

A noticeable presence on the field is Kabir Ali, Yorkshire’s former men’s fast bowling coach, who is in Warwickshire gear and is currently greeting members of the White Rose squad. He is the Bears’ women’s bowling coach. Ali Maiden, Yorkshire’s former batting coach, is also out there. He’s in charge of Bears’ women.

Hill gets KL Rahul

George Hill has taken two wickets for the England Lions against India A, who are 267-5. He has removed opener KL Rahul for 116 and Dhruv Jurel for 52.
