Andrew Gale highlighted Yorkshire’s first-innings batting performance as the primary reason for being under severe pressure at the halfway mark of their Division One clash with Essex at Chelmsford.
Yorkshire were bowled out for 208 during Sunday’s first day before, on day two, Essex completed a strong response of 328, led by half-centuries for Tom Westley and Ryan ten Doeschate.
The visitors then closed the day on 38-3 in their second innings and trail by 82.
Adam Lyth and Harry Brook will be at the crease at the start of day three bidding to start the revival.
