5.01pm That’s it. The players shake hands on a draw with Durham Uni on 104-0 from 34 overs of their second innings. Ollie Price finishes unbeaten 64 and Sam Perry 38, both playing nicely. Roll on Thursday and Glamorgan. Can’t wait!!

4.36pm Into what should be the final half hour of play. Durham Uni 74-0. Price 49.

4.16pm Durham Uni 52-0 in the 23rd over. Ollie Price has 36 of them. Pillans and Sullivan currently in operation.

Tea Report Durham MCC Universities, set 311 to win midway through the final afternoon of the friendly at Emerald Headingley, have reached tea on 35-0 from 20 overs.

Yorkshire declared their second innings on 178-5, with Will Fraine posting 48.

The students’ victory target was never going to come into the equation, with the Yorkshire declaration purely done to give the likes of Duanne Olivier, David Willey, Dom Bess and Mathew Pillans some more bowling.

Olivier was cut for six early by Durham opener Ollie Price, but it has been an otherwise tidy period of bowling for the White Rose county.

Olivier bowled seven overs for 14 with the new ball, partnered by Willey – five overs for five runs. Off-spinner Bess has identical figures to Willey, while Pillans has conceded nine runs in three overs.

Price is unbeaten on 20 and Sam Perry 11.

3.44pm – Tea Durham reach 35-0 from 20 overs, with Ollie Price 20 not out and Sam Perry 11. Tight period of bowling for Yorkshire.

3.04pm Durham Uni have advanced to 19-0 in the 11th over of their second innings. 311 target out of the equation. Ollie Price has 15 of them, including cutting Olivier for six in the first over.

2.25pm Nine bobble hats in the field for Yorkshire. Fair play to Mathew Pillans and Tom Loten, who have stuck with the caps.

2.12pm Yorkshire have declared on 178-5, a lead of 310 after their second innings. A bit more bowling to do before the end of the game.

2.01pm Three cracking catches from Durham today, captain Benjamin with the latest of them at first slip as Willey edges a cut at O’Donnell. Falls for 20. 167-5 now. Olivier comes to the crease.

1.54pm Fraine has fallen in the opening 20 minutes of the afternoon for 48. He got a good piece of a pull at seamer O’Donnell, but he couldn’t clear deep square-leg on the fence. Tom Price takes a superb catch. 156-4, leading by 288.

Lunch Report Adam Lyth retired out on 50, having hit the first ball of day three for six at Emerald Headingley.

Yorkshire’s final day of pre-season friendly action in 2021, against the students of Durham MCC Universities, has seen them advance their second innings from 48-0 overnight to 149-3, leading by 281 runs.

Lyth pulled Ollie Sheen into the East Stand immediately upon play starting, and advanced from 27 not out to reach 50 off 77 balls.

Upon posting his second fifty of this fixture, he walked off to leave Yorkshire 93-2. Earlier, Tom Loten had been trapped lbw by one which kept low from the seam of Tom Price.

Dom Bess replaced Lyth at the crease and reached nine before miscueing a pull at Sheen. James Clark then took a fine diving catch running backwards from mid-wicket (117-3).

Will Fraine has reached lunch unbeaten on 43 and David Willey nine.

Yorkshire are expected to bowl again later in the day as they wrap up their match preparation ahead of Glamorgan in the LV= Insurance County Championship here on Thursday.

1.02pm – Lunch Yorkshire will head into the final two sessions of the fixture on 147-3 in their second innings, leading by Durham by 281. Fraine 43 and Willey 9. Lyth earlier retired out on 50.

12.54pm Yorkshire 139-3, leading by 271, in the final five minutes of the morning. Fraine 36 and Willey 6.

12.25pm Bess gone! He falls to a fine diving catch running backwards from mid-wicket by an unknown fielder off Sheen for 9 following a miscued pull. Yorkshire 117-3 in the 32nd.

Ah, scoreboard has updated the fielder as James Clark. ‘Unknown’ didn’t really do the catch justice. So glad he’s been identified.

12.08pm Joe Root is having another net beyond the boundary rope here as Yorkshire advance to 106-2. Fraine 20 and Bess 4.

11.54am Lyth reaches 50, off 77 balls, and retires out without facing another ball, bringing Bess to the crease. Yorkshire now 93-2, with Fraine on 11.

As expected, there are plenty of bobble hats doing the rounds from the Durham fielders.

11.26am Loten gone! He’s been trapped lbw by one which kept low from Tom Price, 18. Yorkshire fall to 73-1.

11.05am Brilliant start from Lyth, who pulls the first ball of day three, bowled by Sheen, into the East Stand for six. 54-0 in the 13th has since turned into 56-0 in the 14th. Lyth has 35 of them.

10.45am Plenty of bobble hats in operation in the warm-ups. Would not be surprised if that was the headwear of choice when play starts.

Good morning from Emerald Headingley.

Today is the final day of pre-season friendly action for Yorkshire ahead of Thursday’s Championship opener here against Glamorgan.

The county will resume on 48-0 in their second innings, leading by 180, with Adam Lyth 27 not out and Tom Loten 13.

We are expecting a bit of rejigging of the batting order today in order to give the likes of Dom Bess and David Willey time at the crease.

It has been a highly competitive game so far, and Yorkshire will be well served by more of the same.

The sun is out, but – no getting away from it – it is freezing cold out there.

We get underway at 11am, with the live stream available once more.
