Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) is delighted to confirm the signing of Beth Langston on an initial two-year deal.

Langston is a talismanic seam bowling all-rounder with international experience having played six times for England.

The 32-year-old has taken 211 wickets in all List A and T20 cricket combined, added to just short of 2,000 runs in a 214-game career which continues to go from strength to strength.

Born in Essex, Langston has been part of the Yorkshire Family since 2016, when she first represented the county and went on to captain the side.

Langston said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time up North, especially since moving here in 2020 for the start of the Northern Diamonds, and we’re at an exciting point in the domestic game.

“I’m so honoured to sign for Yorkshire. This is a very big club with a lot of history and I’m really excited to be carrying on my journey with Yorkshire and join up with the team.

“We’ve got a great group of girls who are staying, and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.

“It’s an exciting time for a lot of players getting their first contracts, and as a more experienced player I hope to help them through that and grow their games as well as progressing my own.

“I’m confident we can build something special together which will lead to a lot of success.”

Langston was part of the England squad which won the 50-over World Cup title on home soil in 2017, and she has played domestic cricket in New Zealand as well as in the Hundred. This summer, she helped Welsh Fire reach the final at Lord’s.

A new ball bowler with good pace and skill, she is also capable of winning matches from the middle order with bat in hand.

In mid-July, Langston claimed a stunning 6-24 from 10 overs for the Northern Diamonds against Sunrisers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy at York in mid-July.

Northern Diamonds Beth Langston is congratulated after her 6 wickets against the Sunrisers.

Richard Pyrah, Yorkshire Women’s Head Coach, said: “Beth is an impressive cricketer whose signing shows our ambition and intent to challenge for silverware if you play for Yorkshire.

“Beth will bring leadership to the group. She is a winner and a versatile cricketer. She has lots of experience and a winning mentality which we feel will fit well into the squad.

“We all know her qualities with the ball. On her day, there’s no one better in the country. Also, her batting. She can bat in the middle order and get valuable runs.

“She is a fantastic addition to our squad and we are delighted to bring her to the Club.”

Everyone at Yorkshire Cricket is excited to work with Beth and would like to welcome her to the Club.
