The Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of everyone involved in our game — including professional players, Pathway cricketers, employees, officials and all those attending our matchdays and events.
We recognise our duty of care and ensure that our safeguarding policies, procedures and practices meet statutory responsibilities and government guidance, while reflecting best practice across professional sport. Our approach incorporates the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) requirements as set out in their ‘Safe Hands’ Policy and Safeguarding Adults Policy.
Safeguarding is a shared responsibility. Whether in our professional environment, across the Pathway or during matchdays and community events, we are committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy cricket in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment — free from abuse, harm or discrimination of any kind.
We believe that a positive and secure experience is fundamental to both wellbeing and performance. We therefore prioritise the creation of safe spaces and supportive cultures across all areas of the Club’s operations, ensuring that welfare and integrity underpin everything we do.

In line with our obligations, concerns raised which meet a referral threshold will be referred to the Cricket Regulator. Low-Level Concerns (LLCs) are managed locally but will be reported to the Cricket Regulator.
Community Cricket Safeguarding
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, as the official charity and community arm of the Club, is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where both children and adults can enjoy cricket free from abuse, harm or neglect. Working alongside the Club, the Foundation fosters a culture in which everyone feels safe, supported and heard, collaborating closely with recreational clubs, leagues, communities, sponsors and partners.
Safeguarding information for the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation — including policies, procedures and key contacts — can be accessed or downloaded via their website.
