On Monday 6 June, Headingley welcomed Yorkshire’s 2022 Performance Pathway players and their families to celebrate their achievements and to enjoy the Vikings T20 Blast game with Notts Outlaws.

Hundreds of boys and girls were in attendance, with Yorkshire’s Performance Pathways players able to take advantage of their free junior memberships to attend this and any other Yorkshire game in 2022.

At the game, players took part in a pitch walk on the outfield at the interval, before being given the chance to meet the first team afterwards for pictures and autographs!

Even more exciting for Yorkshire’s young County players is the chance to play at Headingley themselves, in September of this year!

Every player on the Performance Pathway (Including both Regional and County Age Group players – over 500 children) has received free playing kit along with their free membership to Yorkshire CCC. Players will also be receiving year-round coaching free of charge, starting this year. Yorkshire Cricket would like to say a huge thank you to Al Murad Group for their generous sponsorship of the Performance Pathway to help us achieve this!

The County Age Group boys will be playing between the Under 12 and Under 16 age groups in 2022. The Phase 1 County squads have just been selected following an incredibly competitive Phase 1 of the Regional Programme and we’d like to say a huge congratulations to the roughly 150 boys that will be representing Yorkshire in the first part of the summer.

The Regional programme continues with East & Central, South, West and North Yorkshire all battling it out throughout the season, with games against neighbouring counties too!

In 2022, Yorkshire are working with a larger numbers of girls, with 116 girls involved between Under 11s and Under 18s. This is Yorkshire’s biggest project for county girls EVER and we are committed to developing female cricketers that will enjoy their cricket and fall in love with the game. Along with county fixtures, the Under 11s and Under 13s will play intra-squad games at intervals throughout the summer with county festivals thrown in at Scarborough College. The Under 15s will play county matches and attend the Malvern Festival in August, with a County Championship is up for grabs for the Under 18s!

Huge thanks goes to all the volunteers, coaches, parents, families, grounds and officials who support the Performance Pathway year on year. We couldn’t do it without you!
