Yorkshire’s U12s will host the first annual cup match with friends and rivals Warwickshire U12s in the newly created Al-Murad Cup.

The first game, for 2022 bragging rights, will be played at the historic Braford Park Avenue on Tuesday 26th July as part of the Bradford Park Avenue Festival. The game will be a 45 over game, beginning at 11am, with spectators welcome to attend.

Al-Murad have been the primary sponsor to Yorkshire’s Performance Pathway since the beginning of this season and have linked up to provide support for Yorkshire’s young players, allowing more opportunities and accessibility for more players this season and into the future – most notably supporting the provision of free kit to every player on the Performance Pathway – over 400 young cricketers.

James Martin, Yorkshire’s Head of Boys Performance Pathway, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support Al-Murad has given the Performance Pathway in Yorkshire. It’s been amazing to see the smiles on our young cricketers’ faces when they receive their free Yorkshire kit. Al-Murad’s support has opened up a lot of doors for us to provide Yorkshire’s young players with more opportunities, not just on the pitch for game days, but in terms of kit, training, facilities and more.”

Al-Murad is now one of the nation’s largest independent ceramic tiles and natural stone importer and retailer with over 40 stores and an increasingly strong and continually growing online presence on offer to customers.

The Leeds-based company, which employs over 300 people, also does considerable charitable work through its foundation, the ‘Al-Murad Trust Limited, which contributes to good causes as part of its wider social impact in the UK and abroad. Al-Murad have also offered considerable financial support to several cricket teams in Yorkshire.

We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support and look forward to seeing the first year of the Al-Murad Cup being played at such an iconic venue – with Yorkshire hopefully claiming the trophy!
