The Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) took home silverware at yesterday’s Business of Cricket Awards 2025 held at Lords.
The Club were awarded Recreational and Community Initiative of the Year, recognising the outstanding work of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation in developing and delivering the Roses Cricket Programme, an initiative designed to engage and empower young girls in cricket across Yorkshire.
The programme addresses a critical challenge in youth cricket, namely the significant drop off in participation of girls transitioning from national programmes to sustained club participation.
Roses Cricket provides dedicated opportunities for girls aged 8-11 to play cricket in an environment that celebrates their identity and nurtures their ambition.

Grace Pearson, Head of Women and Girls Cricket at Yorkshire Cricket Foundation said, “Roses Cricket, Powered by Dynamos, has transformed girls’ cricket across Yorkshire, creating safe, inclusive spaces where girls can discover their love for the game.
“Over the past 12 months, the YCF team has worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. Through close partnerships with Yorkshire CCC and the ECB, we’ve built a sustainable programme that will continue to grow and inspire Girls for years to come.
“We’re proud of this achievement, but the credit belongs to the real champions: the volunteers, clubs, and communities across Yorkshire who’ve embraced girls’ cricket and made this success possible.
“Thank you for believing in Roses Cricket and being part of this incredible journey.”
