Yorkshire County Cricket Club rose to remember Rob Burrow at ­Headingley today (Sunday 9 June, 2024) following his death last week from motor neurone disease. 

 The Rugby League legend died on Sunday 2 June, 2024, aged 41, having lived with motor neurone disease (MND) since being diagnosed in late 2019. 

 A minute’s silence was observed at the start of both the Northern Diamonds  v The Blaze Charlotte Edwards Cup match and Yorkshire Vikings v Derbyshire Falcons Vitality Blast fixture at Headingley Cricket Ground.

The players stand for a minutes silence for Rob Burrow before the women’s and men’s double header at Headingley. 

A special image was displayed on the large screens in the stadium to honour Burrow and supporters applauded after the minutes silence.  

Earlier in the week the Northern Diamonds and Yorkshire Vikings left signed shirts at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium as part of the tributes to Burrow.

The Club’s thoughts are with Rob’s family and friends, and Leeds Rhinos at this incredibly sad time.
