It’s time to vote for your Vertu Yorkshire Men Player of the Month for May, as the White Rose finished the first block in the Rothesay County Championship.

Cast your vote now, be it for James Wharton, Adam Lyth, Jonny Bairstow, or George Hill below.

The candidates

James Wharton

Wharton has provided important innings throughout the past month, bringing his total of half centuries up to 50. A highlight was an unbeaten 63 and a 61 against Essex in our draw in Chelmsford, as well as 67 against Surrey.

George Hill

Hill has had a brilliant month with the ball, including a 6-for and two 5-fors in three matches against Essex, Surrey, and Nottinghamshire. Against Essex he came agonisingly close to a career-first 10-fer across a match, finishing with match figures of 9-82.

Adam Lyth

Our opener has been as consistent as ever with the bat, as he stayed competing with the top runscorers in the division throughout this month. A highlight was his outstanding 185 in the second innings against Essex.

Jonny Bairstow

Bairstow led from the front on multiple occasions, showing his class with the bat including scores in the 70s against Surrey and Essex and being as reliable as ever behind the stumps.
