Will Fraine and James Wharton had added 50 when in the 12th over of the day the latter was bowled for 20. Will Luxton faced only three balls before he was adjudged lbw.
Jonny Tattersall joined Fraine and they took the score to 100 before Tattersall was lbw for six. During their partnership Fraine had reached 50 from only 51 balls with 10 fours and he remained unbeaten at lunch on 69 but not before Waite had departed, bowled for one. Lunch 108-4.
Tom Loten was caught behind without scoring and Fraine had made 81 from 104 balls when he was caught at deep backward point – his 81 coming from a total of 134.
Trialist, Sam Ellis made seven and Harry Allinson 25 as Yorkshire were dismissed for 186.
Tea was taken with their reply at 10 without loss but shortly after Tom Loten struck having Malik caught by Fraine at first slip after the ball was parried to him by Wharton at second slip. 32-1 became 59-2 and the close came with our visitors 122-5, Loten 2-34, Ben Cliff 2-26 and Jack Shutt 1-22.
