After rain caused last weeks two games to be abandoned there was no such danger today.

Facing a Yorkshire side featuring Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Adil Rashid and Shadab Khan Lancashire won the toss and elected to bowl first and within the first four overs they had dismissed Kohler-Cadmore and Khan as Yorkshire were 25-2.

Jonny Tattersall was caught at mid wicket for 5 (49-3) but James Wharton joined Will Luxton and they added 35 in 24 balls before Luxton was caught for 38 from 34 balls. Rashid made four before he was caught-score 94-5 with 6 overs remaining.

Wharton made 24 from 22 balls but the last 5 wickets fell for the addition of only 24 runs and with a full over left unused.

Fielding was caught by keeper, Kohler-Cadmore for 5 and Rob Jones made 19 from 17 balls before he was bowled by Ben Cliff (27-2). Bell and Balderson advanced the total to 49 when good work in the field from Jack Shutt led to the latter being run out.

At 63-3 Lancashire needed 56 at a run a ball but lost their last 7 wickets for only 34 more runs, all out for 97 to give the hosts a victory by 21 runs. There were two wickets each for Rashid and Shadab Khan and Ben Cliff returned figures of 3-15 from his four overs.

Yorkshire return to the same venue on Wednesday 25th May when the visitors are Leicestershire.
