Harry Allinson completed his maiden century in the third over of the morning and went on to make 126 from 217 balls with 20 fours before being bowled.

Having resumed at 324-7 Yorkshire declared shortly after lunch at 376-9.

Dominic Leech struck early to dismiss Mahmood, very well caught low at first slip by Matthew Weston but at tea Yorkshire had had no more success and Lancashire had reached 65-1.

A long evening session saw Yorkshire deliver a further 42 overs where a 143 runs were added for the loss of two more wickets: Matthew Hurst made 68 from 133 balls with 12 fours being especially quick on to anything short before he was caught behind by Ben Birkhead from the bowling of Yash Vagadia and Tom Hartley was caught close in by Matthew Weston off Jack Shutt for 5.

At the close of play Lancashire were 208-3; Walkden 80 not out from 192 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes and Fielding unbeaten on 40 from 54 balls with 5 fours and a six.
