Scorecard

On a warm, sunny day at Harrogate the home side won the toss and elected to bat.

The openers Jack Potticary and captain George Ross put together a partnership of 52 from 88 balls before the first wicket of Ross fell with another one run later. Atkinson and Potticary then put on 46 for the 3rd wicket before Atkinson was caught behind. Wicket keeper Eddie Wilson joined the opener Potticary who was batting impressively before being caught for 97 from 89 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes (50 from 53 balls) with the wicket falling at 141 in the 30th over. No other batsmen made a worthwhile contribution as the home side lost wickets on a regular basis with the last two wickets falling in the last over with the total of 221.

The chief wicket takers were George Hill 3 for 32 from 5.3 overs and Josh Sullivan 3 for 50 from 13 overs. Matthew Taylor, Dominic Leech, Harry Harding and Bilal Anjam took the other wickets.

In the reply the Academy were struggling at 11 for 2 in the 3rd over before a 3rd wicket partnership of 67 between Matthew Revis and Tom Loten made the score a little more respectable. Revis was dismissed for 27. Loten was the fourth wicket to fall at 78 for 48 (from 75 balls with 5 fours). Only George Hill with 34 from 31 balls made any worthwhile contribution as the side were 175 all out from 43.5 overs after being 140 for 5.

For the home side the wicket takers were Harry Stow 3 for 33, Tom Geeson Brown 3 for 39, Jonathan MacGregor 2 for 32 and George Ross 2 for 41.

It has been a disappointing start for the young Academy side with two defeats and have still to pick up a point.
