Report
Hi everyone – after almost 20 months I’m present at a 2nd XI game to score and report directly. Obviously the pandemic wiped out the 2020 season and up to now First-Class scorers have been unable to travel to away games.
The 2nd XI have started the season well having played three away games, winning two and drawing the other. We now have three successive home games however the first day here at Scarborough was abandoned without the toss taking place.
Day two started much warmer and brighter. Lancashire won the toss and invited us to bat first. Will Fraine reached 50 from 65 balls with 7 fours and we reached lunch without losing a wicket at 107. However post lunch conditions had changed with the temperature having dropped and Fraine was caught at second slip to the third delivery of the afternoon for 69 from 100 balls with 9 fours and a six.
Tom Loten was lbw for five and this brought Jonny Tattersall to join James Wharton. Wharton had batted patiently reaching his half century from 148 balls with 6 fours and when rain stopped play at 4.44pm he was unbeaten on 81 from 234 balls with 8 fours – Tattersall was 45 not out from 92 and together they had added 87.
Day two closed with Yorkshire 207 for 2.
