Jordan Thompson and Matthew Fisher shared seven wickets as Yorkshire bowled Warwickshire out for 310 on day one of their two-day friendly in Abu Dhabi today.

Yorkshire bowled today and will bat tomorrow in their first red ball match action of the year after three days of T20 cricket over the weekend at the Tolerance Oval.

Thompson claimed 4-40 from nine overs and fellow seamer Fisher 3-27 from 11.

In all, 11 bowlers were used by the county, with Harry Duke and Jonny Tattersall sharing the wicketkeeping duties.

For Warwickshire, all-rounder Ed Barnard top-scored with a middle order 91 following 50 for ex-Yorkshire Championship winner Will Rhodes, who came in at number three.

Jafer Chohan, Ben Cliff and George Hill were Yorkshire’s other wicket-takers.

Warwickshire reached lunch at 94-4 and tea at 208-7.

Thompson removed opener Rob Yates twice, Sam Hain and Barnard on a day which saw the sides mix and match their bowling options and their batting order.

Fisher bowled Alex Davies and had Danny Briggs and Hain caught. 

Both Thompson and Fisher also took a catch apiece amidst an extremely useful workout for both counties. 

This is Yorkshire’s last fixture of the tour before returning home ahead of next week’s three-day University friendly against Leeds/Bradford at Headingley, starting on Tuesday.
