Club partners NIC are proudly supporting the Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s (YCCC) Performance Pathways, playing their part in developing the next Joe Root and Bess Heath. As part of the partnership, each month NIC highlight an outstanding team within the pathways.

NIC YCCC Pathways Team of the Month for August is the County Age Group (CAG) U12 Boys.

By Andy Inns – Performance Pathway Foundation Phase Lead and East & Central Regions Convenor.

The U12s recently completed a highly successful season, culminating in Yorkshire taking two teams (24 boys) to the highly rated Rugby Festival.

Prior to the festival, the U12s went on an unbeaten run, beating Nottinghamshire and Lancashire twice and Staffordshire during the early part of the Summer holidays.

At Rugby, the boys were split into two teams, playing fixtures against Lancashire, Staffordshire, Middlesex and the host county Warwickshire.

In their eight games at the festival, the Yorkshire U12 teams won seven of them.  However, more importantly, it showed how all the boys have grown and developed over the season.  It also shows the depth of talent within the county and the huge success of the Yorkshire Pathways system over recent years.
