Lancashire Thunder v Yorkshire, Vitality Blast, Friday July 10, 2026, 3pm, Emirates Old Trafford
Toss: Lancashire won it and elected to bowl.
Teams: Lancashire – Eve Jones c, Meg Lanning, Darcey Carter, Tilly Kesteven, Seren Smale w, Fi Morris, Dani Collins, Kate Cross, Tara Norris, Venus Weerappuli, Sophie Morris.
Yorkshire: Ami Campbell, Erin Thomas, Jess Jonassen, Lauren Winfield-Hill c/w, Sterre Kalis, Sarah Glenn, Ines Blackwell, Beth Langston, Hannah Rainey, Holly Garton, Jess Woolston.
Match summary: A fine 64 off 42 balls from opener Ami Campbell followed by a superb display with the ball and in the field ensured Yorkshire won their third successive Blast match, beating arch-rivals Lancashire by 29 runs.
Yorkshire posted 162-6 before Lancashire stuttered and stumbled to 133-8 as 17-year-old Academy leg-spinner Holly Garton claimed a career best 3-23 from her four overs, including getting Australia legend Meg Lanning with her first ball.
Yorkshire won their third successive Blast game to move to up seventh in the table. Thunder, for whom Scottish off-spinner Darcey Carter struck three times and hit 23, are bottom having lost nine of 11 games.

Report: Ami Campbell crashed an all-format season’s best score, and Yorkshire had been 69-0 after seven overs. The left-hander hoisted two leg-side sixes off Tara Norris at either end of the third over.
Erin Thomas fell when she drilled Fi Morris to long-on for 28, but Campbell pressed on towards a 25-ball fifty.
Lauren Winfield-Hill and Sterre Kalis then holed out in the deep against Carter – 92-3 after 11 overs.
Campbell also fell to Darcey Carter, well caught running in from deep midwicket by Morris, as Yorkshire entered the final five overs with 115 on the board.
Aussie overseas Jess Jonassen, a 50-over centurion here in a White Rose win in late April, contributed 33. Though, just when the late acceleration was coming, she top-edged a sweep at Venus Weerappuli’s leg-spin, and Lancashire were able to peg things back. Sarah Glenn also added 23 for the visitors.
Lancashire were dealt an early blow when stand-in captain Eve Jones, who had pulled the first ball of the innings for four, miscued Jonassen to mid-off in the second over of their chase.
Jones deputised for Ellie Threlkeld, on England Test duty.

Picture by Jan Kruger/Getty Images. Jess Jonassen had another impressive day at Emirates Old Trafford, like she had in April. She hit a century and claimed four wickets in a 50-over win back then. Today, she hit 33 and took two wickets.
Academy spinner Garton was then mobbed by her team-mates when she had Lanning caught behind, on four, trying to cut a ball too close to her – 14-2 in the third.
There was a brief recovery as Carter and Tilly Kesteven shared 43, but both fell in successive overs as trouble returned at 59-4 in the 10th. Carter was run out for 23 and Kesteven caught at point against Glenn’s leg-spin.
And, given Lancashire’s struggles with the bat through this competition, that was realistically that.
Kesteven retired hurt on 28 after Garton had struck again to remove Danni Collins, caught at mid-off.
She later had Norris caught at long-on before Jonassen, defending 39 off the last over, had Weerappuli caught behind
Magic Moment: Seventeen-year-old Academy leg-spinner Holly Garton getting Meg Lanning caught behind cutting with her first ball at the start of the third over, leaving Lancashire 14-2. Rumour has it that Garton wasn’t 100 percent sure who Lanning was before the game. She does now, and she’ll never forget!
Turning Point: Yorkshire perhaps didn’t get as many runs as they should have done. But striking twice in the first three overs through Jess Jonassen and Holly Garton was a huge boost to them as Lancashire slipped to 14-2.

Stat of the Match: The 69-run opening partnership inside eight overs between Ami Campbell and Erin Thomas is Yorkshire highest for that wicket in two years of professional T20 cricket.
What they said – Leg-spinner Holly Garton: “I loved every minute of it. That was so good. I couldn’t have asked for a better start (with the Lanning wicket).
“Those first two overs with the ball definitely set the tone, and we just carried it through the whole 20 overs. Ami Campbell was amazing with the bat, and it was a real team performance.
“I couldn’t believe it when I got Lanning. I’d heard about her, that she was the big wicket. There were a few nerves there, but I try not to think too much about it.
“We’re on a great run at the moment, and hopefully we can get another one on Sunday. But we’d love the lads to make it a double tonight. The belief in this team is growing every day. We’re getting better and better.”
What’s next: Yorkshire round off their Blast campaign at Headingley on Sunday, against The Blaze from 11.30am. It’s part of a Blast double-header day, with Yorkshire’s men facing Nottinghamshire Outlaws from 3.30pm.
