Dan Moriarty has just reached a superb 84-ball fifty at Grace Road, his first in senior cricket, as our men continue to frustrate Leicestershire.

A bit of Moriarty magic
It will almost certainly not affect the result, but Dan Moriarty has played a gem of an innings here. He has a career best 46 not out (all first-team cricket) and has helped Yorkshire to 216-9.
Yorkshire’s women, meanwhile, are 97-4 in the 11th over having just lost Amelia Oliver lbw to Erin Vukusic. We need 87 more to win, with Lauren Winfield-Hill 29 not out.
Moriarty and White frustrating Leicestershire
Dan Moriarty has 34 and has just beautifully lofted Ajaz Patel over extra cover for four. Jack White has also lofted him down the ground for four to move to 13.

Wharton looking good
It was interesting hearing James Wharton speak after day one about his frustration at getting out in the fifties and not going on. He felt his dismissal had opened the door for Leicestershire to bowl Yorkshire out cheaply.
It was a young player showing maturity and taking responsibility.
Now he has the chance to get his team out of the mire. Long way to go, but he’s got a start. He has 18 out of 53-3.

Should Yorkshire beat Somerset today, they will face either Glamorgan or Hampshire in the quarter-finals on August 23. Those two also play today.

From the Uptonsteel County Ground, Grace Road, where we are running today’s blog with an eye on two venues.
Yorkshire’s men are in day-three Rothesay County Championship action against Leicestershire, starting on 32-2 in their second innings and still 236 runs in arrears.
Yorkshire’s women are in Vitality County T20 Cup action against Somerset at Scarborough. Both Tier 1 sides have entered that competition at round three, two wins from a place at Finals Day in late August.
While our men have significant work to do to even claim a draw against the Foxes, our women are hoping to back up Wednesday’s brilliant One-Day Cup win over Durham at the Riverside.
We get going here at 11am, while it’s a 1pm start up at Scarborough.
