That's it for the day.

No more play at Headingley.

What a day for Yorkshire. Fifteen wickets have put us in control heading into day four tomorrow.

Rain. Surrey 83-5, 28.4 overs

We still have 12.2 overs remaining in the day, but the light isn’t great either.

What a day for Yorkshire, though. Fifteen wickets so far.

Surrey 57-5, 21.3 overs

Adam Thomas caught Will Luxton bowled Harry Brook, 1.

Cut straight to backward point.

Brook has three-for.

Surrey 56-4, 20.2 overs

Matthew Revis has forced Dan Lawrence to play on, 1.

What a day Yorkshire’s bowlers are having.

Adam Thomas in now alongside Dom Sibley, 28.

We still have almost 21 overs remaining in the day.

Surrey 49-3, 17.5 overs

Ryan Patel caught Ben Cliff bowled Harry Brook, 13.

Slapped straight to cover. Yorkshire continue to thrive.

Hang on, it’s two in three balls.

Brook has just bowled his England team-mate Jamie Smith for a two-ball duck with a peach. Off-stump out of the ground.

Surrey are 49-3.

Play has resumed

Surrey 39-1 in the 15th over.

Rain. Surrey 39-1, 14th over

The players scurry off the field due to what looks like only a shower.

It’s pretty bright all around Headingley.

Surrey 34-1, 10 overs

We still have 35 remaining in the day, as long as the light holds.

Surrey’s battle to survive is being fought by Dom Sibley on 14 and Ryan Patel on 6.

Matthew Revis has just been brought into the attack in place of Jhye Richardson.

Surrey 15-1, 5.2 overs

Rory Burns caught behind Jonny Bairstow bowled Jack White, 11.

Caught in between two minds as to whether to play forwards or back, does neither and feathers behind.

Surrey are 267 runs behind still.

Yorkshire have enforced the follow-on

Surrey will bat again 282 runs behind with 45 overs remaining in the day.

Tea. Surrey 204 all out, 59th over

This has been an impressive recovery from Surrey, who were 93-7.

But Dan Worrall has been caught behind for 13 off Ben Cliff.

Tea will be taken, so we’ll have to wait and see whether Yorkshire enforce the follow-on.

Surrey trail by 282.

Surrey 176-9, 48.3 overs

Sean Abbott caught Joe Root bowled Matthew Revis, 56.

Caught at first slip with a beauty – angled in and nipped away.

Matthew Fisher 9 has been joined at the crease by Dan Worrall.

Abbott 50

Australian seamer Sean Abbott has reached his fifty off 53 balls with 6x4s and 2x6s.

Surrey 167-8 now.

Surrey 151-8, 42.5 overs

Josh Blake caught George Hill bowled Ben Cliff, 22.

Slashed low and fast to third slip, where Hill takes a smart catch.

That ended a half-century stand between Blake and Sean Abbott, who has 40.

Matthew Fisher in now.

Surrey need to get to 337 to avoid having to follow-on.

Surrey 138-7, 40th over

Sean Abbott has 30 and Josh Blake 19.

These two have added 45 for the eighth wicket.

Surrey 115-7, 35th over

Tye and Whiteman having a net

AJ Tye

AJ Tye and Sam Whiteman are having a lunchtime net here at Headingley.

That Whiteman is back up and running after his recent injury is great news.

Caught low down at cover on the drive.

Covers coming off

We’re going to be restarting pretty shortly. The sun is out at Headingley now.

RAIN: Surrey 65-3, 20.2 overs

It’s been pretty dark for 15 minutes or so, and now we have a daily heavy rain shower. Much brighter in the distance, so fingers crossed it won’t be too long.

Surrey 65-3, 18.2 overs

Jamie Smith caught George Hill bowled Matthew Revis, 4.

Caught at third slip following a tentative drive from Smith.

Yorkshire have an opening here.

Surrey 58-2, 15.6 overs

Dom Sibley caught Dom Bess bowled George Hill, 25.

Turned around the corner straight to leg slip.

Timely wicket for Yorkshire, with Jamie Smith now in alongside Ryan Patel, who has 7.

Surrey 50-1, 14 overs

Jhye Richardson continues.

Dom Sibley has 21 and Ryan Patel 3.

Surrey 34-1, 9 overs

Rory Burns caught Will Luxton bowled Jhye Richardson, 24.

Popped off a length and left-handed Burns can only fend to point running in.

Ryan Patel in now alongside Dom Sibley.

Surrey 28-0, 8th over

Rory Burns has 20 and Dom Sibley 6.

Jhye Richardson and Jack White are searching for the breakthrough.

There’s been one strong lbw appeal for White against Sibley, but it did look high.

Play underway

Surrey 17-0 after four overs.

Jhye Richardson will get us underway as the visitors reply to a first-innings 486.

Covers coming off again

The sun is out and we’re all set here at Headingley.

New warm-up game...

Anthony McGrath has his players playing a game which is a cross between football, rounders and KwikCricket.

Basically, he rolls the ball to the person on strike who has to kick it as far as possible and then run to two bases at each side as quickly as possible before the ball is returned to McGrath who rolls the ball once again whether the striker is ready or not. Also, if you’re caught, you’re out.

Yesterday, it was American Football, the day before I think it was Squares.

And as we type, the ground-staff are rushing the covers on as there’s some rain in the air.

The rain has passed through

Should we get a full day in, we will have 104 overs in the day.

Yorkshire’s scorer John Potter has just been in the press box to confirm that.

Oh no....

Just as we press send on that last update, it’s started raining and the covers are being brought on.

Good morning...

From Headingley, where it’s a dry and bright start to day three.

There has been some overnight rain, but it’s disappeared and the ground is ready for an 11am start.

It wouldn’t be a shock to see a bit more rain today, but fingers crossed not and Yorkshire get the chance to get into Surrey’s batting line-up.

They will resume on 17-0 in reply to our 486. A few early wickets and the course of the game could swing.
