Good morning...
From a warm and soon-to-be sunny Clifton Park, York.
We have a belter of a day ahead of us for Yorkshire v Lancashire, always a fixture which whets the appetite. The sun hasn’t yet joined us, but it will without doubt burn through.
Both sides have made a good start to this competition.
Yorkshire have won two from two, beating Warwickshire at Scarborough last Tuesday and Northamptonshire at Wantage Road on Friday.
Lancashire have won one added to a No Result. They had their opener against Northamptonshire washed out at Sedbergh School this time last week. On Sunday, they beat Somerset at Taunton. Somerset had previously won their first two matches.
Today’s visitors, heavily-affected by Hundred call-ups, are captained by Australian overseas batter Marcus Harris in this format.
Should table-toppers Yorkshire win today, they would take a giant step towards finishing in the top-three places in Group B for knockout cricket. This is the first of back-to-back games at York, with Somerset the visitors on Thursday.
