The cap fits

James Wharton and Matthew Revis

Massive congratulations to these two, James Wharton and Matthew Revis, who received their county caps in a presentation in the Hawke Suite last night.

Both represented the England Lions over the winter and linchpin members of Yorkshire’s team across all formats.

Good morning...

From Headingley, where it’s raining.

It’s a frustrating start to the day, and we look set for a delayed start.

This was in the forecast, but fingers crossed things improve later in the day and we can get going,

When that happens, Yorkshire’s batters have got some work to do. Last night, amidst one fiery over from emerging England pacer Sonny Baker, they fell to 37-4 in reply to Hampshire’s 251. That became 48-4 at close.

Adam Lyth and Matthew Revis will be at the crease.

You can read our Match Report and reaction piece, the latter with bowling coach Mick Lewis, via the requisite links.

Down at Taunton, fingers crossed they can get started for the women’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup between Somerset and our women, whose Tier 1 debut comes on the back of a successful campaign in Tier 2 last year.

Australian all-rounder Jess Jonassen is set for her White Rose debut.

That is due to start at 10.30am. We shall keep you posted.

The live stream link for the men’s game is at the top of the page. The women’s game will also be posted, but in the body of this blog.

The preview for the game at Somerset has been done with Rich Pyrah.
