Live: Yorkshire Men v Hampshire, MBODC

It's semi-final day at Scarborough as Yorkshire face Hampshire in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. The winner advances to the Trent Bridge final on September 20. Will it be the White Rose? Follow our blog for live updates throughout the day.

RAIN: Yorkshire 43-0, 13th over

The rain has arrived at North Marine Road, where the wind is howling as well.

We need 20 overs for a game, but to give you a guide Yorkshire are seven runs behind the DLS par score.

There is half-an-hour play with before we start losing overs.

Yorkshire 30-0, 9 overs

It’s getting a bit darker here at Scarborough. There’s a suggestion in the press box that rain is due soon.

Adam Lyth 13 and Imam-Ul-Haq 16.

We need 20 overs in the Yorkshire chase for a result.

Hampshire on the money

Kyle Abbott and Brad Wheal have started very tidily with the new ball, with Yorkshire 19-0 in the eighth over.

No dramas yet for Yorkshire, though. Plenty of time to up the rate.

Adam Lyth has 13 and Imam-Ul-Haq 5.

Yorkshire 9-0, 3 overs

Our pursuit of 305 has seen Adam Lyth and Imam-Ul-Haq pick up a boundary apiece in the early stages.

Yorkshire chasing 305

We’re up and running in the chase.

Kyle Abbott has the new ball and is bowling to Adam Lyth. Imam-Ul-Haq is Lyth’s opening partner.

Meanwhile, Glamorgan have been bowled out for 130 by Yorkshire in the U18s County Cup final at Kibworth.

Hampshire 304-6, 50 overs

George Hill had Liam Dawson caught in the deep for a superb 142 in the last over, while Scott Currie finished 61 not out.

Matt Milnes went off with what looked like a groin injury in the last over attempting to chase a ball to the boundary. He finished with 3-73 from 10 overs and Hill 2-52 from 10.

Yorkshire need 305 to reach the Trent Bridge final.

Hampshire 291-5, 49 overs

The visitors have turned the tables in this game dramatically inside the final 10 overs of the innings.

They were 180-5 after 40. Liam Dawson 130 and Scott Currie 61.

Currie 50

Scott Currie reaches his maiden List A fifty off 35 balls with 7x4s.

Hampshire are 280-5 from 48 overs having scored 69 off the last four.

Liam Dawson on 130.

Dawson 100

Liam Dawson

Liam Dawson has reached an impressive century off 103 balls with 10x4s and 3x6s.

He has helped Hampshire to 243-5 in the 47th over, with Scott Currie contributing a List A best 43 not out. Hampshire are eyeing 280 plus.

Seven overs remaining

Hampshire 206-5 after 43 overs.

Liam Dawson has held this innings together for his 81 and Ben Mayes (37) and Scott Currie played more positively around him.

Currie has 25 not out.

Hampshire 180-5, 40 overs

Liam Dawson has 71 and Scott Currie 9.

Glamorgan struggling in the U18s final

Bradley Sylvester, Jay Singh and Tom Bradley have all taken two wickets at Kibworth, limiting Glamorgan to 98-6 after 22 overs. There has been a bit of rain around in Leicestershire.

Hampshire 167-5, 37 overs

Ben Mayes caught Matt Milnes bowled Ben Cliff, 37.

Miscued to Milnes running to his left from mid-off.

Liam Dawson remains on 67, but the partnership of 89 is broken.

Yorkshire needed that to keep things in check.

Scott Currie in now.

Dawson 50

Liam Dawson reaches his fifty off 66 balls with 7x4s.

Ben Mayes has just been dropped on 23 at backward point, and Hampshire are 139-4 in the 34th over.

A partnership forms

Hampshire are 128-4 in the 32nd over, with Liam Dawson 44 and Ben Mayes 22.

These two have shared 50 for the fifth wicket.

Mayes has just reversed Dom Bess for six over third and down towards the Tea Room.

Hampshire 95-4, 25 overs

Liam Dawson has 26 not out and Ben Mayes 7.

Yorkshire on top but not in total charge just yet.

Hampshire 78-4, 19.2 overs

Ben Brown bowled George Hill, 12.

Undone by one which was angled into a pulling Brown, who gets himself in a bit of a tangle.

Yorkshire all over Hampshire here. Youngster Ben Mayes is in now alongside Liam Dawson, who has 16.

Ben Cliff into the attack

Five wickets here in the opening game of the competition against Warwickshire, a few more would be handy today.

Hampshire 65-3, 16 overs.

Glamorgan 57-3, 11 overs

In the U18s County Cup final at Kibworth, Yorkshire have claimed three new-ball wickets to put themselves ahead of that game.

The seniors are in an almost identical position against Hampshire here at Scarborough. They are 65-3 after 15 overs. Ben Brown has 9 and Liam Dawson 6.

Another one for Milnes! The seamer finds the edge of Ali Orr with wicketkeeper Harry Duke completing a tidy catch diving to his left.

Orr had played some eye-catching shots on his way to 28, including a giant six onto the roof of the Pavilion. England all-rounder Liam Dawson is the new batter to the crease.

What a catch – Captain Dom Bess clings on to a full length diving catch running around from mid-off off the bowling of Matt Milnes. The score has reached 48 for 2 just short of ten overs, with a mixture of fluent shot-play, fortunate edges and close calls to keep the Scarborough crowd entertained.

Hampshire 15-1, 4th over

Yorkshire will clearly be much the happier with this start having removed Nick Gubbins. But it hasn’t all been one-way traffic.

Ali Orr helped Jack White over deep backward square-leg for six in the last over, and he has 11.

Hampshire 8-1, 1.3 overs

Nick Gubbins bowled Matt Milnes, 4.

Played on playing loosely outside off-stump.

Yorkshire have the early breakthrough they craved, and it’s the competition’s leading run-scorer.

Fletcha Middleton in now.

It has the feeling of a big toss to win.

Hampshire 8-0, 2nd over

Ali Orr worked the day’s first boundary off his legs against Jack White and Nick Gubbins has just driven the second off Matt Milnes.

We're up and running

Today’s semi-final is underway.

Jack White is bowling to Ali Orr. Nick Gubbins is the other Hampshire opener.

Under 18s underway at Kibworth

Yorkshire’s men’s Academy are in the Under 18s County Cup final against Glamorgan at Kibworth today. Glamorgan are 6-0 after one over in Leicestershire.

Like here at Scarborough, Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bowl.

The White Rose are aiming to retain the title they won last year.

Charlie H Taylor is captaining Yorkshire today, with Will Bennison in the squad for this Metro Bank One-Day Cup semi-final.

Yorkshire win it and bowl

Yorkshire: Adam Lyth, Imam-Ul-Haq, Will Luxton, James Wharton, Fin Bean, George Hill, Harry Duke w, Dom Bess c, Matt Milnes, Ben Cliff, Jack White.

Good morning...

From North Marine Road, where it’s a lovely morning ahead of our One-Day Cup semi-final against Hampshire.

We get going at 11am as the White Rose county bid for next month’s final.

Yorkshire finished top of Group B with seven wins out of eight and thus advanced directly to this stage. Hampshire, meanwhile, won six of eight to finish second in Group A and then beat Middlesex in Thursday’s quarter-final.

While they played host to that game as a result of finishing second in their group, a clash of dates with the Hundred at the Utilita Bowl meant they had to play it away at Radlett. They comfortably defended their 229-9 total, bowling Middlesex out for 189 in reply.

While Anthony McGrath has opted against bringing any players back from the Hundred, Hampshire have gone the other way. Liam Dawson took three wickets in the quarter-final, and they have added Toby Albert and Scott Currie to their squad for today’s game.

Fast bowler Currie hasn’t played at all in this competition this season, batter Albert featured once in the group stage.

You can read our preview for today’s game, with Anthony McGrath, via the embedded X post above, which also includes details of the squad.

There is a reserve day for this fixture, which is tomorrow, just incase any bad weather hits us.

Enjoy the day.
