Good morning...
From York, where it’s another scorcher of a day. It’s already warm, more so than this time yesterday morning.
Essex will resume on 248-3, with Jordan Cox and Matt Critchley unbeaten on 13 apiece.
A good morning for Yorkshire and they will be right back in this one. If the pitch holds firm and plays like it did yesterday, you feel the White Rose would be confident of turning the tables in this game if they can limit Essex to have south of 400.
Tom Westley scored 107 for Essex and Dean Elgar 94.
Jack White, Ben Coad and Will Sutherland all struck for Yorkshire.
