Tom Abell was the day’s standout performer with 130 for Somerset, who close on 391-6.

It’s a dry and bright morning at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, where we’re all set for a 10.30am start on day two.
Somerset resume on 155-3 with James Rew unbeaten on 54. George Hill took two of the three wickets to fall before the rain arrived yesterday to limit us to 42 overs.
If you believe the forecast, we may well be in for a similar day today in that we get started before afternoon and evening rain.
Ten years ago today – September 9, 2015 – Yorkshire won the second of back-to-back Championship titles, on day one of their game against Middlesex at Lord’s. We have reproduced a piece we published in this year’s yearbook to celebrate that success.
