Disappointment in Academy final

Academy 197-9 chasing 247

In the men’s Under 18s County Cup final at Headingley, Glamorgan are nearly over the line, with Yorkshire needing 50 to win in five overs.

Yorkshire's Academy need something special

In the men’s Under 18s County Cup final at Headingley, Yorkshire are 125-6 after 32 overs chasing 247 to beat Glamorgan.

Opener Tom Fraine is key. He has 60 not out.

YORKSHIRE WIN!!!!

We’re through to next Sunday’s final at New Road, where we will face Worcestershire.

Yorkshire win by six wickets chasing 195 in the 39th over.

Sterre Kalis 65 not out and Ami Campbell 34.

They have shared 73 unbroken for the fifth wicket.

Fabulous!

Yorkshire on the verge

At 189-4 in the 39th over, we need only six to win.

Sterre Kalis 64 and Ami Campbell 29.

Kalis 50

Sterre Kalis

Sterre Kalis reaches a crucial fifty off 71 balls with 8x4s.

It hasn’t been an innings without fortune, but the Dutch international remains and is steering Yorkshire towards the final at Worcester next Sunday.

She’s looked more and more settled. Hard work done, now she’s dominating.

Yorkshire 162-4 in the 37th over, needing 33 more.

Kalis sweeps strongly

Since the fall of that fourth wicket, Sterre Kalis has hit three boundaries with sweeps and has moved to 42 out of 140-4 in the 35th over.

Yorkshire need 55 more to win.

Yorkshire 122-4, 32.1 overs

Maddie Ward caught Artemis Downer bowled Saskia Horley, 37.

Caught at deep mid-wicket, ending a 67-run stand with Sterre Kalis, who has 29.

Ami Campbell in now with 73 needed.

Yorkshire 112-3, 30 overs

The White Rose county need 83 more to win.

Sterre Kalis and Maddie Ward have 28 apiece and have shared 62 for the fourth wicket. It hasn’t been a calming stand by any means, but it’s doing the job.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire’s men’s Academy are 32-2 after nine overs chasing 247 to beat Glamorgan in the U18s County Cup final at Headingley.

Halfway there

Yorkshire 89-3, 25 overs, needing 106 more to win.

Maddie Ward has 20 and Sterre Kalis 14.

Yorkshire 84-3, 23 overs

Maddie Ward has been dropped on one and 14, and Sterre Kalis has just been dropped on 13.

Yorkshire living dangerously at present but still ahead of the game.

The target is 111 more to win and reach next Sunday’s final.

Yorkshire 75-3, 20th over

Maddie Ward has just lofted Issy Routledge’s off-spin over mid-on’s head for the first boundary since the eighth over.

Yorkshire have had to absorb some pressure created by spin, but the preservation of wickets is key here.

Sterre Kalis 8, Maddie Ward 14.

The White Rose need 119 more.

Government stopped play!

With the UK government sending out text message warning alerts to all mobile phones at 3pm, the noise forced the umpires to temporarily halt play for a moment or so.

Yorkshire 58-3 in the 13th over.

Yorkshire 55-3, 10.3 overs

Erin Thomas stumped Pippa Sproul bowled Anaya Patel, 38.

Oh no. Thomas falls quickly after Winfield-Hill.

Sterre Kalis and Maddie Ward in now as we pursue 195.

Yorkshire 55-2, 10 overs

Lauren Winfield-Hill caught behind Pippa Sproul bowled Saskia Horley, 16.

Middlesex give themselves hope by removing Yorkshire’s captain.

Sterre Kalis in now alongside Erin Thomas, who has 38.

Yorkshire 47-1, 8th over

Lauren Winfield-Hill and Erin Thomas, with 15 and 31, are trying to break the back of this chase pretty quickly. And they’re doing a good job.

After that early wicket, Middlesex have been put under serious pressure.

Thomas has hit seven boundaries so far.

Yorkshire 24-1, 6th over

Erin Thomas has started confidently and has 15, Lauren Winfield-Hill 8.

Glamorgan all out for 246 in U18s final

Up at Headingley, in the Under 18s County Cup final, Yorkshire’s men’s Academy side have bounced back impressively to limit Glamorgan, who had been 161-2 in the 23rd over. Louie Wilson claimed five wickets.

Yorkshire 4-1, 1.2 overs

Olivia Thomas caught behind Pippa Sproul bowled Sarah Pearson, 1.

Early wicket for Middlesex brings Erin Thomas to the crease as Yorkshire chase 195.

Yorkshire chasing 195 for Glammy final

Our pursuit is underway at Radlett.

Lauren Winfield-Hill is facing Katie Wolfe, with Olivia Thomas also opening.

Glamorgan await the winners at New Road next Sunday.

Middlesex 194 all out, 47.2 overs

Katie Wolfe caught behind Lauren Winfield-Hill bowled Ria Fackrell, 0.
Yorkshire are chasing 195 after a brilliant start to the innings with the innings and an impressive end.
Middlesex were 37-4 early doors before recovering to 181-5 but lost their last five wickets for 13 runs.
Langston, Rainey, Fackrell all with two wickets.

Middlesex 193-9, 47 overs

Sarah Pearson run out (Ria Fackrell/Lauren Winfield-Hill), 3.

Run out from deep mid-wicket coming back for two to striker’s end, with Gaya Gole looking to get on strike for the start of the 48th over.

Middlesex 184-8, 43.4 overs

Hannah Davis run out (Olivia Thomas/Ria Fackrell), 1.

Gaya Gole drilled a drive out to wide long-off and tries to get back for two. But Davis can’t at the non-striker’s end.

Middlesex 182-7, 43.1 overs

Anaya Patel caught Ami Campbell bowled Ria Fackrell, 1.

Caught one-handed above her head at mid-wicket after a leading edge loops high over Campbell’s head.

Middlesex 181-6, 42.4 overs

Saskia Horley caught Claudie Cooper bowled Olivia Thomas, 83.

A fine innings is ended as she pulls the leg-spinner to backward square-leg, where Cooper takes a good low catch.

That ends a 93-run partnership with Gaya Gole, who has 42.

Middlesex’s captain is clapped off by all, including the Yorkshire coaching staff.

Middlesex 165-5, 40 overs

Saskia Horley has 75 and Gaya Gole 34.

Middlesex 139-5, 36th over

We’re inside the final 15 overs, and Middlesex have recovered this impressively.

Yorkshire remain in the ascendency but will be frustrated at dropping Gaya Gole twice on 6 and 14. The first was a half chance to Ami Campbell at slip, one-handed going to her right. The second was much more straightforward to Erin Thomas at cover.

Saskia Horley has 62 and Gole 23. These two have hared 51 unbroken.

Horley 50

Saskia Horley reaches her half-century off 65 balls with 5x4s.

The Scottish former Australian Under 19s international is holding this Middlesex innings together.

She’s helped recover them from 37-4 after 12 overs to 112-5 in the 31st.

Middlesex 88-5, 25.2 overs

Riva Pindoria caught and bowled Claudie Cooper, 17.

Important wicket to stifle the Middlesex fightback.

Yorkshire’s off-spinner breaks a 51 stand with Saskia Horley, who has 34.

Pindoria chips a low full toss back to Cooper.

Middlesex 88-4, 25 overs

The hosts may have recovered, but Yorkshire will be very happy with their position at the halfway stage of the first innings as they bid to set up a final meeting with Glamorgan at New Road next Sunday.

At Headingley, Glamorgan are 129-2 after 19 overs in the men’s Under 18s County Cup final. Wickets for Bradley Sylvester and Charlie H Taylor.

Middlesex 81-4, 23rd over

Yorkshire have turned to spin in the form of Olivia Thomas to replace Beth Langston.

The hosts have found a badly needed partnership, with Saskia Horley and Riva Pindoria sharing 44 for the fifth wicket.

Horley has 32 and Pindoria 12.

Middlesex 66-4, 19 overs

Beth Langston has finished with 2-39 from 10 overs.

Saskia Horley, the Middlesex captain, has 22 and is key to their hopes of a revival.

Langers keeps going

Beth Langston looks as if she’s going to bowl her 10 overs straight through here.

She’s just started her ninth, with Middlesex 51-4 in the 17th over.

Saskia Horley has 10 and Riva Pandora 8.

Middlesex 37-4, 12 overs

Pippa Sproul caught behind Lauren Winfield-Hill bowled Hannah Rainey, 0.

Rainey strikes twice in the over, and Yorkshire are all over Middlesex here. What a start this is.

Middlesex 37-3, 11.2 overs

Finty Trussler caught Erin Thomas bowled Hannah Rainey, 11.

Rainey strikes in her second over as Trussler miscues a simple catch to cover.

Middlesex 32-2, 10 overs

Just the one boundary so far, and Yorkshire will be delighted with this start.

In the men’s Under 18s County Cup final at Headingley, Glamorgan are 36-1 after six overs.

Middlesex trying to settle

Finty Trussler and captain Saskia Horley are at the crease for the hosts, who have moved to 26-2 in the eighth over.

Middlesex 10-2, 6.4 overs

Artemis Downer caught behind Lauren Winfield-Hill bowled Beth Langston, 7.

Similar to the first wicket, and Yorkshire are motoring.

Middlesex 6-1, 5 overs

Issy Routledge caught behind Lauren Winfield-Hill bowled Beth Langston, 1.

Caught behind playing loosely outside off-stump.

This has been an excellent start for Yorkshire.

Middlesex 2-0, 2nd over

Jess Woolston shares the new ball. Quiet start so far. A few have beaten the bat.

Up and running

Beth Langston has the new ball and is bowling to Artemis Downer. Isn Routledge is the other Middlesex opener.

Yorkshire win toss and bowl

Yorkshire: Lauren Winfield-Hill c&w, Olivia Thomas, Erin Thomas, Sterre Kalis, Maddie Ward, Ami Campbell, Beth Langston, Ria Fackrell, Jess Woolston, Claudie Cooper, Hannah Rainey.

Good luck to the men's Academy

They are replaying their Under 18s County Cup final which was washed out midway through against Glamorgan at Kibworth last Sunday.

That’s taking place at Headingley, starting afresh from 10.45am.

We will keep you up to date with that today.

Good morning...

From Radlett Cricket Club, where Yorkshire are aiming for third time lucky against Middlesex this season. It’s a glorious Hertfordshire day, and we get going at 10.30am.

It’s the semi-final of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup and a week out from the final at Worcestershire, where Glamorgan will be waiting for the winners. They beat Northamptonshire convincingly yesterday.

This is a clash between first and fourth in the group table. Middlesex won nine from nine and Yorkshire won five.

Middlesex beat Yorkshire at Headingley in the group stage at the start of August having also beaten the White Rose in the Vitality Blast final at Northampton at the end of July.

Yorkshire have Lauren Winfield-Hill and Sterre Kalis available to them today.

You can read our preview with captain Winfield-Hill via the link above.

Enjoy the day.
