That’s a 19-point haul and puts us 33 ahead of second-bottom Hampshire in the Division One table.

Dom Bess has just trapped Kyle Abbott lbw for 22.

Hampshire are 238-9, needing 40 more.

Bess has a five-for. Excellent.

Bess gets Andrew Neal caught at deep mid-wicket by Sam Whiteman for 39.

That breaks a key stand between Neal and Kyle Abbott, who remains on 22.

Hampshire are 235-8 and need 43 more.

That’s a fourth wicket for Bess.

Andrew Neal on 19 has edged Dom Bess into Fin Bean’s boot and it has bounced up to George Hill at slip.

Yorkshire are convinced but the umpires turn down the appeal.

Unfortunately, replays show it was indeed out.

This match has been attritional, there’s no getting away from that. A slow burner in many ways. But it’s built to a crescendo ahead of today.

Yorkshire are the favourites given the nature of the pitch. It’s slow, hard to score on and turning. But Hampshire are by no means out of it.
