Live: Glamorgan v Yorkshire, Rothesay CC, Day Three
Yorkshire and Glamorgan are at the midway point of their opening round Rothesay County Championship fixture at Cardiff. It's a batting day for the White Rose, who are looking to respond strongly to the hosts' 302 all out.
Yorkshire 177-7, 49.1 overs
Dom Bess lbw Timm van der Gugten, 32.
Van der Gugten strikes for a second time to remove the stand-in captain, stuck on the crease.
Logan van Beek comes to the crease to join Matthew Revis, who has 28.
Yorkshire 153-6, 44th over
Dom Bess has started nicely, moving to 14. He has Matthew Revis for company on 22.
The follow-on is out of the equation now. Yorkshire trail by 149.
Yorkshire 136-6, 38.3 overs
George Hill bowled Mason Crane, 2.
Hill becomes the ex-England and Hampshire leg-spinner’s fourth wicket, and Yorkshire losing another.
A partnership is desperately needed here. Hate to say it, but there’s still a bit of work to do to avoid the follow-on. We need to get to 153 to take that out of the equation.

Yorkshire 87-2, 24.1 overs
Sam Whiteman lbw Mason Crane, 48.
The former England leg-spinner does for our new number three, who played very nicely before being struck in front as he played back.

Whiteman hits the ground running
Sam Whiteman has started very nicely indeed. He has moved to 30 off 36 balls, with Yorkshire now 59-1 in the 18th over.
Alongside him, Adam Lyth has 24 as Yorkshire reply to 302 all out.
Yorkshire 30-1, 12th over
It’s been a watchful start for Yorkshire, with Adam Lyth now joined by Sam Whiteman, our new left-hander.
Lyth has 15 and has just picked up a boundary, which he edged wide of the slips, all along the ground.
And that is followed by back-to-back boundaries for Whiteman, who moves into double figures.
Against Andy Gorvin’s seam, he has just got a feather on one down the leg-side, which hurries away to the boundary almost directly behind the keeper. He then caresses a drive through the covers.
Yorkshire 11-1, 4.5 overs
Fin Bean caught behind Chris Cooke bowled Timm Van der Gugten, 4.
Feathered behind on the defence.

Lyth handed an extra Easter gift
Lovely. Just what you want as a batter at the start of a day.
Ryan Hadley has just served up a juicy full toss with the day’s opening delivery, and Adam Lyth drove it handsomely to the cover fence for four.
Yorkshire 5-0 in the third over now.
Bairstow subbed out with thumb injury
Yorkshire have taken advantage of the new substitution rule in this season’s County Championship following Jonny Bairstow’s right thumb injury.
Will Luxton is in and can bat.
Bairstow will now miss the next Championship match against Hampshire at Headingley under the rules. Any players subbed out miss the next eight calendar days (not eight days of cricket).
Fingers crossed, the injury itself doesn’t prevent any more time on the sidelines.

Good morning...
Welcome to Sophia Gardens, where there has been overnight rain. But it’s dry and sunny now, and we’re expecting a start on time at 11am.
Yorkshire will resume on 1-0 in their first-innings reply to Glamorgan’s 302 all out. Dom Bess and Jack White finished with three wickets apiece, Bess’s three coming yesterday and White’s on day one.
Bess captained Yorkshire yesterday in the absence of Jonny Bairstow, who is nursing a right thumb injury. He didn’t take the field all day yesterday but has not yet been substituted out of the game, which is an option open to the visitors if they so wish.
You can recap on yesterday’s Match Report and reaction piece with Bess.
There will be the usual live stream available at the top of the page once play gets going. Enjoy the day.
