Yorkshire are in Rothesay County Championship action against Glamorgan at Cardiff. Follow our page for live updates throughout day two

Play abandoned for the day

There will be no more play today due to the light.

Yorkshire trail by 301 runs.

BAD LIGHT: Yorkshire 1-0, 1.4 overs

Adam Lyth and Fin Bean head back to the pavilion having navigated the very early stages of Yorkshire’s first innings.

We are due to bowl 17 overs this evening. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we don’t see anything else.

Glamorgan 302-10, 120.3 overs

Andy Gorvin caught Logan Van Beek bowled George Hill, 1.

Oh my word. What a stunning catch our Dutch international has just taken.

Gorvin hooks Hill down to long-leg, where van Beek takes a one-hander over his shoulder. Outstanding.

Mason Crane caught Matthew Revis bowled Dom Bess, 51.

A much more straightforward catch at long-on brings the innings to a close. We have 17 overs remaining in the day.

Bess finishes 3-42 from 23.3 overs.

Crane 50

Mason Crane reaches his fifty off 92 balls.

Glamorgan have moved to 301-8.

It’s taken them the best part of 27 overs to go from 250 to 300.

Glamorgan 283-8, 112.3 overs

Timm van der Gugten bowled Dom Bess, 40.

Another turning delivery beats the Dutchman on the outside edge.

Bess has two wickets.

Ben Coad and Logan van Beek are operating in tandem after tea as Yorkshire try to wrap up the Glamorgan innings, which has advanced to 263-7 in the 103rd over.

Timm van der Gugten has 32 and Mason Crane 21.

Tea: Glamorgan 261-7, 101 overs

Timm van der Gugten has 31 and Mason Crane 20. They have shared an unbroken 37 for the eighth wicket.

Wickets for Matthew Revis and Ben Coad on an attritional surface.

Glamorgan 241-7, 91st over

Timm van der Gugten, 21, has just been handed a life having edged Jack White to Adam Lyth at second slip.

Mason Crane is with him on 10.

Yorkshire have threatened consistently with the second new ball, which is the best part of 11 overs old.

Just over half-an-hour until tea.

Glamorgan 224-7, 82.4 overs

Colin Ingram caught Fin Bean bowled Ben Coad, 103.

Ingram reached his century off 225 balls but fell to his 226th, pushing forwards and feathering behind.

A fine innings comes to an end.

Coad picks up his second wicket of 2026.

Coad returns with the new ball

The new ball has been taken, and Ben Coad has it. Glamorgan are 218-6 in the 81st over.

Colin Ingram has 99 and Timm van der Gugten 11.

Glamorgan 196-6, 76 overs

Chris Cooke bowled Matthew Revis, 30.

Revis does for Cooke with a beauty of an off-cutter which bowls him through the gate.

In the media centre, we are right down the line of the pitch and it almost seemed to happen in slow motion. You could almost tell that he’d done him long before the ball got there.

Super stuff.

Colin Ingram remains, on 89.

Ingram picks up five

Colin Ingram just pushed George Hill into the off-side, with Dom Bess shying at the stumps, missing and seeing the ball scuttle off to the boundary. Five runs have helped the left-hander move to 87 out of 186-5.

Up and running after lunch

Dom Bess and George Hill are in operation immediately after lunch.

Glamorgan are 178-5 in the 70th over, with Colin Ingram 80 and Chris Cooke 23.

Lunch: Glamorgan 169-5, 67 overs

Yorkshire strike once in the morning session, through Dom Bess, who ousted Ben Kellaway for 52.

Colin Ingram has moved to 72 and Chris Cooke to 22.

Unfortunately, Cooke should have been removed with the last ball before lunch. But Adam Lyth couldn’t hold on to a catch at slip off Bess.

Lunch to be taken at 1.10pm

With the additional overs scheduled during the day, lunch will be 10 minutes late.

Glamorgan are 161-5 in the 65th over, and it looks like we’re having a ball change.

Colin Ingram 70, Chris Cooke 16.

The pitch is low and slow.

Ingram continues to defy

Glamorgan are 155-5 after 61 overs. The 62nd will be bowled by Matthew Revis.

Colin Ingram has moved to 66 not out.

Oh Canada...

Hockey Cardiff

The Canadian national anthem belts out on the tannoy behind the Sophia Gardens cricket ground.

The Welsh national Institute of Sport is situated just yards away from the ground, and there is an international hockey game being played between the emerging women’s sides of Wales and Canada.

The Welsh national anthem follows it.

Hang on, I’ll go and get a photo.

Meanwhile, here, Glamorgan are 137-5.

Glamorgan 129-5, 46.3 overs

Ben Kellaway bowled Dom Bess, 52.

Turning delivery from Bess does the trick, bowled through the gate.

Almost instant success for Bess, who strikes with his third ball of the day and only his ninth of the match.

Chris Cooke in now alongside Colin Ingram, who has 54.

Ingram 50

Colin Ingram has reached his fifty off 105 balls, and Glamorgan have now moved to 128-4 in the 46th over.

Century stand between him and Ben Kellaway.

Kellaway 50

Ben Kellaway has just reached a 91-ball fifty, and his partner Colin Ingram is not far behind on 48.

Glamorgan 122-4 in the 44th over.

An update on Jonny Bairstow is that he is going to have a bat indoors to test out his thumb, which is still sore. The Yorkshire camp don’t want to make things worse by him keeping. He has not been subbed out of the game as of yet.

Glamorgan start well

The hosts have moved to 112-4 in the 41st over.

Colin Ingram has 45 and Ben Kellaway 43.

Ben Coad and George Hill are in operation for Yorkshire.

No Jonny

Jonny Bairstow is not on the field this morning. Fin Bean keeps, Dom Bess captains.

Glamorgan are 99-4 after 36 overs, and Ben Coad has ball in hand.

The sun is out.

Start on time planned

A start on time at 11am is in the offing here at Sophia Gardens, with an extra eight overs added to make up for some of those lost yesterday. So, we have 104 in the day.

The covers are coming off

Cardiff d2, morning

Good news. The rain has cleared, and the ground-staff are starting to get things ready.

Good morning from Sophia Gardens

It’s a damp start to the day, unfortunately, ahead of day two.

The good news is that there hasn’t been too much overnight rain, if any, and it’s only very light now.

When we do get going, Glamorgan will resume on 99-4, with Colin Ingram 41 and Ben Kellaway 35. Every credit to them, they repelled an impressive Yorkshire bowling performance to steer their side away from deep trouble at 28-4.

You can recap yesterday’s action via our Match Report  and reaction piece with Jack White.

As it was raining, we also chatted to Logan Van Beek. Having spent 25 minutes in his company, he will be a very popular addition around Headingley over the next three months.

The live stream will be available at the top of the page when we get going.
