12.26pm Play has been abandoned for the day here at Edgbaston. The forecast seems to be brighter for the next couple of days. Fingers crossed.
12.09pm The rain has eased, and the outfield looks much clearer. But not enough to alter the view that there will be no play today. We await confirmation from the umpires.
In the meantime, they are playing at Taunton in the title decider between Somerset and Essex. Somerset are 75-5.
11.07am There has not been a fixture which has started on time today, although they are due to start at 11.10am at Durham, where they are hosting Glamorgan.
Lunch The chances of play on day two at Edgbaston between Warwickshire and Yorkshire are pretty much zero as heavy rain continues to fall in Birmingham.
Heavy overnight rain has failed to abate, leaving the outfield under water in a scene which their neighbours Worcestershire are much more used to.
Umpires Graham Lloyd and Russell Warren have called an early lunch at 12pm, with it likely they will call things off for the day shortly afterwards.
If and when play does resume on Wednesday, Yorkshire will be 261-2 in the first innings of this season-ending fixture, with Tom Kohler-Cadmore 165 not out.
11am There will be an early lunch taken at 12pm. It seems, with water all over the outfield, that play will be called off for the day not too long afterwards.
Good morning from Edgbaston, where it is absolutely hosing down I’m afraid.
There are puddles all over the outfield with the likelihood of more to come.
I would be absolutely staggered if we see any play at all today.
If we do, however, Yorkshire will resume on 261-2 with Tom Kohler-Cadmore unbeaten on 165. He opened and dominated yesterday’s first day, with help from debutant Tom Loten, who made a polished 58.
It sounds like the weather is causing issues all over the country.
We won’t be starting at 10.30am, but will keep you updated through the day.
