Lancashire: Salt w, Jennings, Croft, Vilas c, David, Wells, Lamb, Wood, Hartley, Gleeson, Parkinson.

9.56am The view from the opposition with Lancashire’s Tim David.

“My first two experiences of Roses games have both been close matches and I think that’s awesome,” he told the Manchester Evening News.

“There seems to be a feeling about those games. They’re the sort of games you want in finals.

“Looking back on the tournament, that first game against Yorkshire in front of a packed house at Old Trafford was probably one of the highlights.”

9.52am Edgbaston is a hive of activity now. Sky commentators Alex Tudor, Dominic Cork, Charles Dagnall and Simon Doull are out in the middle having a look at the pitch.

Former Bradford League bowler Simon Doull, no less.

9.37am The gates are open. The crowd are starting to find their seats.

9.34am The players are out there warming up in the middle. Dom Bess and Matthew Revis are currently bowling into a mitt held by Kabir Ali.

9.01am Katherine Brunt and Nat Sciver are the two Northern Diamonds players in England’s Commonwealth Games squad. Congratulations to them both.

The Diamonds, meanwhile, are in Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy action against Central Sparks at Worcester today, starting at 10.30am. We will keep you up to date with their bid for a third straight win to start this competition.

8.34am Adam Lyth has been speaking to the official Finals Day programme. He says…..

“I’ve been involved in two Finals Days and played in one (here in 2016), and they’re great days.

“They’re probably the nearest thing to international cricket if you’ve never had the pleasure of playing for your country. Packed house at Edgbaston.

“These are the days when you want to be a cricketer.”

Good morning from Edgbaston, where it is a glorious morning ahead of Vitality Blast Finals Day, our third appearance at this great showpiece day.

It is pretty quiet as things stand. The ground staff are busy preparing the pitch, some of the media have arrived. It is very much the calm before the storm.

We will be recapping some preview material from various sources over the next couple of hours ahead of the big one, Yorkshire v Lancashire in the first semi-final at 11am.

That is followed by Hampshire v Somerset at 2.30pm and the final at 6.45pm.

There will be no live stream available today given Sky Sports are televising the whole day live.

Let’s hope we end with a trophy.
